Hello all!  I'm new to kayaking and live in suisun city.  I picked up a 2016 hobie outback a few weeks ago to fish the delta and haven't had a chance to put it in the water yet due to work and other priorities.  I really want to get out on the delta but being new, I figured it'd be wise to go with someone instead in case something happens.  It's currently sitting in the garage awaiting a guard for the lowrance totalscan transducer.  Please let me know of any good launch areas or if I can tag along.  I'd be willing to drive 2 hours any direction.

Welcome! Lakes are the best place to get familiar with your new toy...practice self rescue, etc. Brannan Island Rec campground in Rio Vista is good launch place close to you. Better yet, Suisun waterfront or that big bridge at Grizzly Island. Would love to go with you but kinda busy this month.
No ocean too deep, no tide too high, no weather too bad...Let’s go paddle around and have some fun! Fish on!

Let me know if you want to get out in Suisun and try out your yak, if I'm not working I'll be happy to go along! I'm in Lawler ranch and have a place to put in in the neighborhood, so I usually paddle from here to downtown.

Sounds good! Weekends work the best for me but I can do weekdays as long as it's planned ahead.

sharkb8,

What transducer cover did you get?  I waiting for my BerleyPro Totalscan Transducer Mount, being shipped from Australia!  It was in LA a few days ago, so hopefully it will get here this week.

Berley Pro has a dealer in Texas and I got the same totalscan mount from them as well.  Mine should be here tonight!

I don't make it out that way much but if I ever do, I'll let you know for sure!
