2 reel seminars - mark you calenders!

i have two reel seminars coming up.  the first is at fisherman's warehouse in san jose, this coming thursday, september 8th,  from 10am until 7pm.  same format as before. bring in your reels, have a seat, roll up your sleeves and be prepared to get a little greasy.  

the second event is saturday, september 17th, and it's going to be a little different.  it's not a seminar per se, it's more of a "come on" to get you into that little tackle shop in pacifica, called coastside #2.  you saw my post on this shop a while back.  

so here's the deal for the pacifica seminar.  i'm going to be there from 10am until 6pm.  i will be doing drag upgrades and basic repairs, and i will be doing all the work myself.  bring in as many reels as you want, but there is a catch.  you have to pay me for the cost of parts.  you also have to buy $20 worth of stuff per reel from the shop.  want four reels worked on?  buy $80 worth of stuff.  but you need to check in with me before hand.  if you have a reel that's badly torn up, i may not be able to do it.  my goal is 5 reels an hour.  you are basically getting 12 minutes worth of bench time with your $20 purchase.  i can do minor miracles in 12 minutes.  major miracles take longer.   and remember, i want to shut down at 6pm.  i've never tried this format before, but i think it will work, for everyone.  

and here's the disclaimer.  i don't have a business license.  i get some bulk discounts, but otherwise still pay retail (and tax) on reel parts.  i have no financial interest in the shop.  i am not getting a kickback in any way.  i just think maque is a nice guy and it pisses me off when small bait and tackle shops go out of business.  the only thing i am requiring of marque is to spring for dinner and all the beer i can drink at the end of the evening.  

so i'm going to be at the san jose fisherman's warehouse on thursday, september 8th, and at coastside #2 in pacifica on saturday, september 17th.    it's shaping up to be a busy month.  i hope you all can make it.  mark your calenders!  and thanks!  alan
