You can also get bait at Western Boat - Central San Rafael Exit, East on Second Street, turns into Third Street at Montecito Plaza.  Western Boat is a few hundred yards past Montecito.  Can't miss it.  Third Street turns into Pt. San Pedro Rd. which will take you all the way to Bucks Landing.  It's a little quicker stop if you're in a hurry!

Well I have been feeling like a total dumbass sitting here trying to figure out where the water is. I pulled up Bills map and followed San Pablo where I saw the star, but couldn't figure out why I wasn't seeing any water. I Googled a satellite map and there definitely wasn't any water in the area. Then I read it was San Pedro, not San Pablo...HUGE difference!!!
I will try to piece together where Buck's is. I am 85% IN!

Dont worry about bait, when your coming down the 80 you should take the N37 from vallejo to petaluma and then hit the 101 south and exit san pedro road.  make a left off the freeway and you will go 4 miles on a curvy little road that will bring you to Bucks Landing.  PM me your bait request, or wait, ESP tells me anchovies, grass shrimp or ghost shrimp.  Remember to have a little roll of stretchy thread to hold your bait.  I'm passing by those bait shops on my way in.  For you it would be alot easier to head through petaluma and alot faster.  Ya dont want to get lost in Richmond.  :smt068 :icon_r&r:

Buck's is #15 on this map...

Tote, coming from Sacramento on hwy 37 it would probably be quickest for you to get Bait at Leonard's at Port Sonoma. About a mile before you cross the Petaluma river you have to take a left off of 37 at Marina Drive.  Follow that to the marina and the bait shop is out at the end of the center dock.

My bait preferences are:

#1 - Ghost Shrimp
#2 - Grass Shrimp
#3 - Combination of Ghost Shrimp and Grass Shrimp
#4 - Anything else as long as it is Ghost Shrimp or Grass Shrimp

Oops... well... after reading the report on PFIC... looks like Anchovies have made an appearance as a viable sturgeon bait from McNear's pier as well.   I stand corrected.

Well thank you all for the input. Right now it looks like I am 90% there..pretty much have a free pass as the GF is working on Saturday and I am not!
Thanks for the offer to pick up bait, but I see no prob scoring any now with all the great info you have all provided.
What does one use to land a dino? Noose?
JTF~ you had me ROLLING with the "Don't get lost in Richmond" emoticons. My stomach still hurts.
I am familiar with 37 from Vallejo as this is the route I normally take to go to Ocean Cove, I just wont turn on Lakeville Road..LOL
Looking forward to the outing and hoerfully the water ride!

Yeah you will need a noose but many of us will have them Saturday so don't worry if you don't have one. Someone can always lend you one. Looks like it might be a bit on the cold side in the morning but otherwise a nice day.

Tote, did you sell that trailer yet?  I can't make the fishing trip, but could come by Buck's and look at it if you are bringing it down as I live in San Rafael.  LMK.
