Big Break is flooded, and is anticipated to be flooded this coming Saturday, the AOTY committee has decided to change our venue to LAKE CHABOT Regional Park, in Castro Valley.

Everything else will stay the same as for timing of event.

Lake address:
17600 Lake Chabot Road
Castro Valley, CA 94546

Look for our group in the picnic areas pretty close to the main parking lot on the map here:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/37%C2%B042'59.1%22N+122%C2%B006'13.2%22W/@37.716418,-122.1042042,224m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d37.716418!4d-122.103657

Park Rules:
Parking is $5.
Trailered vehicles are $4 extra.
No power boats allowed.  Kayaks are $2 each for launching.
There is a watercraft inspection - $4
Fishing Fee is $5.
Dog Fee is $2.
No smoking allowed in the park.
Drinking of Beer & Wine are fine.
Allowed to cook in the designated picnic area.

Please bring some tables and ez ups just in case.  Should be fine weather wise and there are picnic tables but we could use a few extra.

Marv/Shitty Chicken will cook his pig starting around 6am and could use a couple of hands
.

Date: Saturday, February 11th

Start time: 2pm

Potluck from 12 noon to 2pm.

Looking forward to seeing a bunch of great people, checking out some amazing art and prizes, and celebrating the accomplishments of the Anglers and Divers that played in 2016!

We will also have a whole lechon style pig courtesy of Marv (Shicken) and Native Son's BBQ!!

https://www.yelp.com/biz/native-sons-bbq-san-francisco

And a keg of Bud Light for hydration purposes courtesy of Cody (ALPINEX) and Anheuser-Busch!

 :smt003 :smt004 :smt003

Please bring tables if you can, and something to contribute to the potluck and party!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

I've been busy and off the water since rockfish wars but I'm super stoked to be going to the awards ceremony. The calendar is marked!

Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Little more than 2 weeks to go so here are some updates.

One of our members (Cody aka ALPINEX) works at Anheuser Busch and has secured us a keg of BudLight that he will bring iced down and ready to go for our hydration needs. His only request was that we try and drink it all so he doesn't have to take it home and finish it himself.  :smt003

We will have a whole roast pig for us all to eat!

One of our members (Marv aka Shicken) is co-owner of Native Sons BBQ and the plan is for him to do the pig lechon style for us.  :smt007

https://www.yelp.com/biz/native-sons-bbq-san-francisco

Please bring whatever else you want to eat and drink and share potluck style!

Awards will start at 2pm but chilling and drinking and eating will start much earlier.  :smt003

As a reminder, we will have the following kayaks as prizes there for you to check out:

DOTY Grandprize: Jackson Kayak Kraken 13.5
AOTY Grandprize: Hobie Revo13 with Mirage Drive 180
AOTY/DOTY Participation Raffle Prize: Wilderness Systems Tarpon 130X
Youth AOTY/DOTY Participation Raffle Prize: FeelFree Move Angler

If you have any questions at all please just let me know, and I hope a lot of you can make it!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim
