Thanks Tim, if you aren't going to fish the tournament would be great to have your help. We will need people to stand-by at the various launch sites, assist with check-ins and also looking for a couple people with power boats to be on lake.

I was thinking of fishing the tourney but I never win anyways  :smt003, I'll save my cash for raffle tickets instead  :smt002.  I have a " 93" 18' Fishrite Jet as a safety boat we can use. I'd be glad to help with the check-in also.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Thanks, will add you to the list. Did you see the post about Holiday party on Dec 17? 6:00 PM at Upper Crust in Redding.

I wish I could make this!!! Unfortunately this is the weekend before the Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship and I'll be on the road headed there so that I can prefish.  Maybe next year if this is going to be an annual thing!

Yes, we are planning a yearly event. Good luck at the KBF Nationals.

Not to worry, just 51'from full already and rising quickly. There are lots of hungry bass on the chew right now and good size average.

More Info on tournament -

Thanks to Headwaters Adventure Company and Hobie Fishing -first Place will be a 2017 Hobie Outback.

Pro Cure has signed on as sponsor and there will provide bottles of various scents for Captains Bags.

If you register before March 1 Captains Bag and tournament t-shirt included, register after that March 1 we can't guarantee t-shirts will be available.

If you stay at Bridge Bay Resort ask for the fishing tournament rates, launch fee is included with room.

Holiday Harbor Campground is another option for overnight - you can RV or tent there and launch for free.

Public ramps and other resorts generally charge $10/day to launch.

Lake Shasta is already 102 feet higher then same time last year, by the time the tournament comes around even the locals are going to have to "learn" the lake again after a few years of drought. Thinking those big fish are going to push way up into the shallow areas, which will be under water this year.

Shasta Bass Baits has signed on as a sponsor. They are a veteran owned business and very excited to help support Heroes On The Water. We will be giving away a few of their baits at the tournament.
