It looks like Lexington is now (finally) open

https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/parkfinder/Pages/Lexington-Reservoir.aspx

Of course, it still costs an arm and a leg for inspection/launching. Anyways, I find it a great place to practice self-rescue and test out gear. And rumor has it that there are some fish in there somewhere...

I went this morning for just a couple hours--mostly just to practice self-rescue.

In case anybody is wondering, it's $5 to launch and $4 for the inspection, and you can find parking for free along the road (even on a busy Sunday). Also, the inspector will probably insist that you take your kayak off your car for the inspection, which is a pain.

just lox like it, but it shows only just under 70 percent.  http://alert.valleywater.org/rgi.php.
imagine how insane 85 or 90% would look like?!  prolly water up to hwy 17!

Yes!  I hope to.

https://www.sccgov.org/sites/parks/Whats-Happening/Pages/Annual-Passes.aspx#Lifetime

"Annual Passes for vehicles are $95 and Annual passes for vessels (CF) are $90 each. A non-CF vessel annual pass is $50. An annual vessel inspection pass is $70."

If interested in all-inclusive annual passes, does that mean anteing up:
*annual vehicle pass ($95)
*annual non-CF vessel pass ($50)
*annual inspection pass ($70)

Putting the vehicle pass aside, I'd have to basically fish Lex at least 14 times and park on the road way, just to break even.  Not gonna happen.  The annual passes look kinda wasteful at this point...

So, are Anderson and Calero the only places in Santa Clara Co that allow swimming? I want to take the kids somewhere fun that we can play in the water.

When Lexington is full (Water raging over the spillway) the water comes real close to certain spots close to HWY17.  The west side lake area is still only a puddle,  When the lake is full, the west side portion can cover up a white pipe that is there.  Currently that pipe is way  the hell out of water!
I used to bass fish the lake a lot back in the early 90's with friend Dan and (Via his boat and float tube) remember when the water was up in the trees!  Lots of bass in them thar trees!
Granted the lake has more water in now then previous years, but no where near full.  70% seems a good guestimate.

You're good.  The gauges are reporting 69.5%.

Last I recall.....no swimming in anderson. I believe it's the same with calero......unless you do it discreetky in areas the ranger aint patrolling.  You can water-ski, wake and tube to your hearts content however.
