That water looks pretty nice to me. We did not come up to Elk but did not even launch at Reef, the Fort or Stillwater. The wind was already smokin' at 8am. I'm glad someone got to fish. I am pretty new to this website and look forward to finally fishing someday with you guys.Congrats on that nice ling.
-
Nice fish! Congrats!
Launch looks a lot smoother than I imagined it would be from the weather sites, and it looks like you didn't have thick fog.
Looking forward to more reports - maybe there should be an entry fee for the vicarious Elk experience. Oh, that's right, there is-much less fun sitting at home.
-
That launch shot does look better than I expected from the weather reports, Looking forward to more reports and pics.
Nice fish!!!

Ben this is your year. Get married and win Elk in the same year. Just need to win BAM and AOTY for the trifecta.
scott
-
Right on Ben! Congrats!!!
-
Yeah! Ben!
-
Many, many thanx too the Whites and everyone who puts this together, that pretty much means everyone.
Always a great time time, but talk about icing on the cake!
The ling was actually only 17.5 on the official scale, my personal best, caught on a helpfull greenling, who was released after his brave adventure. My hero. What a fiasco at the net, he had every op to get away, but it was in the cards... I cant wait to get some fish blood on the trident, its a beautiful boat.
Lots of fun jamming with the crew, hanging and talkinbg fish-smack, we cant wait for BAM.
Ill try not to space the name tags this time.
And btw, this was not the longest ling, only 34 1/2, but just a P.I.G., HOG!
And congrats to Levi and Allen on 2nd and 3rd place!
-
Nice job Ben! Glad to hear that you guys had a great weekend...looking forward to the rest of the reports! :smt003
-
Congrats Ben, Ely and Allen. Well deserved :smt023
Hey Ben, I'll see you in a couple of weeks at the MBK derby :fishing2.

Big Congrats to Ben on the win! You stuck with your plan and it paid off. Gotta love it when it all comes together like that! Well deserved victory!
Had a great time as well and once again, HUGE kudos to the White family for putting on this massive shindig. Everything about this event seems to get better and better every year. The food was off the hook... just incredible!

Thanks to the White family once again for a memorable weekend. It was real cool gettin to meet a bunch of guys for the first time, or even talking to some guys for the first time who have been at Elk before.
I had a blast!!!! :smt003
Ben, congrats on the win.
To Levi and Allen, good job also, as always Elk is challenging and you guys stepped up with Lings over 10 lbs. Most of us others average 5 to 9 lbs. In fact, I think there were only 18 Lings weighed in. Makes placing in the top 3 a little more rewarding.
Leah, thanks for making sure I had food before the drive home. That was very sweet of you. You, Sean and the family are top notch in my book. :smt023
It was good BS'in with all you guys there. To BobN, dude, you and your girl rock!!! :headbang: Thanks for the beer and ribs, delicious! Always a pleasure being around NCKA peeps. JTF

Amazing event as always. The Whites rule!!! Special thanks to the community of Elk, they always re so generous to invite the madness to take over there town for a few days. Here is a slideshow of the photos I took.
Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

Great reporting of what has become the prime NCKA tournee and an obvious great time. Thanks to those who've posted photos, so those of us who couldn't be there can experience the vibe. Great job, Whites. Congrats, Ben and other competitors. Some day... :smt001

Glad everyone had a good time....lots of people this year. Not a record for anglers, but definitely more friends and family...a good sign! I also had lots of folks pitch in with camp/kitchen and cleaning chores....THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone we made a nice chunk of dough for the community center again, and Erik's Coastside raffle was a massive success as well.
I generally don't get to fish much during these events but I snuck out in the Zest with paige a few times to fish a little and play in the rocks. Paige loved going through the arches...

Thanks to all for a great event, and thanks especially to Great White and his Great wife for all their work through the year ptting this thing together.
Redyak and I stopped in the Elk visitor center on the way out, which is open something like 11 to 2 on weekends only with volunteer staff. There are some really cool old pictures of the area from the 1920's, showing logging and shipping work, but the picture that caught my eye was one of two guys fishing from a skiff, with the caption: "An afternoons fishing"
They had a pile of fish that you would not believe: Perhaps forty fish, most of them Lings, with the small fish twenty to thirty pounds, and the big ones looked like sixty to me, and fat. I had to look again to make sure they weren't black sea bass or something-they were that huge! Classic old school fisherman's pose, leaning on their oars and smoking. You gotta check it out next time you're there.
Best,
TallPaul

That is a famous pic, truly massive lings in that photo.
-
Congrats Ben on the first place and thanks to all for sharing some pictures for the
rest of us to envy. Way to go guys.

As soon as I saw the big blue I was awestruck by the beauty of the area, and I remained somewhat dumbstruck the entire time. It's a humbling area.
I saw the pics at the community center too... amazing.
The early morning launch pics do not tell the whole story. Friday was great til about noon and then the wind started howling...
Saturday the swell was up and it was a weird confused choppy swell. The wind was on and off all day, but by 11:30 or so it was pretty much howling nonstop, making conditions nearly unfishable.
I didn'ty go out Sunday but I heard the conditions were worse.
I dunked my camera so no pics, but thanks again to the Whites, EK, the City of Elk, and everyone else.
Random memorable moments:
-Seeing Paige bring up her first ab... she was so proud!
-Fresh out of the fryer ChuckE fried rockfish... incredible! (and thanks for the fishing tips, by the way!)
-Fresh avacadoes from Jim's tree, those were off the hook!
-Eating fresh urchin sushi off the back of Angels kayak on the beach, (thanks again!)
And thanks to Mooch for getting Hook 1 to donate the gift certificate I won in the raffle!
-
My trip started on Thursday morning...Mooch and I went to Albion(20min north of Elk) to Fish,Camp&BS. Got there and had a real breakfast in the on-site coffee shop. Then Mooch wanted to "take a NAP!?" He had been comsuming massive quatities of caffine and the 2 pull-over naps on the way up there didn't quite add up to a full nights sleep. I "made him" go out...since that was the reason for going there in the first place.
pic1~ waiting for Mooch to catch up to me in the Navarro Redwoods, along hwy128.
pic2~ emerging from the forest and Navarro River, to the open coast
pic3~ rivers edge....amphibien& his buddy(sorry, forgot name), choppin it up before we hit it.

Looks like a top notch event, as expected. Thanks to everybody for sharing their personal adventures. Keep em coming! Big Congrats to Ben! A very well-deserved win.

At the camp site, I finally met someone who REALLY liked me :smt057 Her name is "CC"......(Rocketman and Slowmo's little puppy)

By the powers vested in me, I bananad my fellow NCKA'ers :smt002 (By the way, Ben did have a banana on board when he caught the winning fish :smt045 SO THERE !!!!!
During the after dinner raffle.....
-
....we got out and it started to blow. I looked for some structure to jig over, but after generations of RockFishHarvestingPB'rs....there aren't many left.
I did manage to CP&R a just-keeper Ling and a Black, before deciding to call it and "Blow" back to shore.
I did put in 4 miles of searchin&jiggin, durring the four hours, while on the water

Albion looks like a GREAT place to fish/launch. How is the camping, any trees or grass?
-
E-DAY -2 (Day 2 Before Elk) Adam and I secured a campsite in Albion (and were later joined by Randall / Big Foot, his son Ty, Zeelander and Bsteves.

Entering the Albion launch after a slow day of fishing (caught and released smallish Chinas, gophers and blacks)
-
Man, you folks had a blast, wish I could have made it. You guys had way more fun than I did. Next time.
-
Albion looks like a GREAT place to fish/launch. How is the camping, any trees or grass?
Ben, it's not the greatest...no trees or any form of shade....wind's constantly blowing....people walk their dogs but don't clean up their poop....only one bathroom on the site BUT it does have coin operated showers. Mike told me that the campsite further up the river is better. May have to check that out next year.
-
E-Day -2: We also met Amphibian and his friend (sorry, forgot your name) at the Albion launch and he scored a nice Verm.....
-
..it's like camping in a dirt lot, with a creek...don't waste your $25.oo!
I made a real gourmet meal on thur-nite....pan fried HOT-links, sliced and drowned in HoneyBakedBeans w/frenchbread. Mooch wanted the recipe after we polished it off.....then the PartyAnimal took over him. Soon Randle(bigfoot) and son(lil'foot) were pulling into camp for the night. When packing up and pulling out we find out Bryce/Zeelander and BrianS were crashed a few spots away.
pic1~ A never ending party boy
pic2&3~ Z&Brian....(they did sleep separately)

E-Day -2: The Albion natives waiting for scraps...
E-Day +1: The Mexican Free Dive Team fixing some yum-yum carne asada...(Angel,Art and Liz)
-
Justin the super hero spearo led the fish printing class and created some really cool prints :smt007 ( a few were donated to the raffle as well)
-
..Mooch said he dosen't like spicey foods&beans because of the after-effects that hit him later....now I understand why. :fart:
pic1~ why Mooch dosen't eat beans or spicey foods. what did he think he was gonna be eating when travling with a "Certifiable Beaner"

that was a great weekend. i arrived at 9am on friday, i was greated with sunny skies and calm seas. i quickly geared up and hit the water. the coastline was absolutely stunning and the fishing was good for blues and blacks. around 2 pm i rolled my yak back up the hill to set camp and start partying! so much fun to sit in camp and watch and wait as friends arrive with their toys strapped to the roof of their vehicles. sat morning i launched early, my stomach quickly noticed that i drank way too much tequila the night before and that the ocean was much rougher than friday! :smt011 i felt some gurgles for a while, but when the sun came over the hill i felt much better. the fishing was great. i caught blues, blacks, verms, chinas, gophers, olives and a cabezon, but NO lings for me. the wind picked up, and by noon i tied up in the kelp beds, and did a little flippin', black bass style. i pulled some big blues up on a rubber squid, it was pretty fun. then back up the hill for pre dinner snacks; kegs of beer, tequila, fried fish, smoked fish, pork butt, tacos, lumpias etc. dinner was great and the raffle was fun. an added bonus was the clear night sky, i saw billioooons and billioooons of stars.
thanks to white family for holding this event!
-
Another one of Justins creations....(next year, I hope to participate)
-
....camp was just starting to show life as people were pulling in and going out to hit it a day early. I unloaded/loaded up for the trek down to shore.
pic1~ Hamming it up for the cameras...those kids!
pic2~Joe/ bluefin17 and Ty/ lilfoot about to do the walk down.
pic3~ the ocean was alot nicer on friday.
-
pic1~ halfway down the trail, you're almost there.
pic2~ going to the north end of the beach is always fun, pulling theyak through the soft-loose sand is real SWEET!
pic3~ as you can see...friday was the easy, no wind&small swell day
-
...hit Nose Rock with Joe and Ty right of the bat and was rewarded with a nice CP&R'd 28' Ling on a BigGitZit.

Another GREAT Elk Derby. Thanks to the Whites, Erik, the many prize sponsors, potluck contributors, and many others who helped out in one way or another.
A big CONGRATS to Ben on a well deserved win. Congrats to Levi and Allen who drove a long way to participate and were rewarded with 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Ben, congrads! Was my plan this year to stick close to you. From the looks of some of the photo's it looks like you stuck to your plan and it worked out. I,m thinking that it could have not happened to a nicer person.
Missed you folks this weekend but I must say that you were in my thoughts all weekend. Great going Whites and way to put on a great party. Frankfishing
-
....paddled&jigged from 8am to 4pm...a solid 8hr job on the water Friday. The wind picked up for an hour or two, I was paddling back to the barn, when all of a sudden, it stopped! I then heard JDyak on the radio, say he was headed out, I stayed out until my Ass&Hamstrings were numb&sore. I ended up with 2-lings@28"&25"(both C&R'd)...2-Vermillons@19" and many assorted RF that made it back down, a few made it to the ChuckE fryer too.

Talk about some serious sensory overload!!! I just finished up arranging my mental scrapbook and there are definetely a lot of things about this weekend that stand out.. it was just an awesome time out there with everyone.
I didn't carry my camera around much so I didn't get any great pics but I think the highlights for me were (in random order)
1) Being greeted by da Mooch when we first arrived. We mess with him a bit sometimes but that's my mo'fo' fo sho'.
2) Messing with Art about the super-dome.
3) Finally getting to paddle Elk, last year I didn't get too far because my boat was taking in water.
4) Getting to dive with Stu and Freddie, they made me stay at least 300yds from them but it's all good. :smt003
5) Seeing Ben up there to receive his prize and then walking back and everyone singing happy birthday to him... kind of made me feel a wee bit warm and fuzzy to hear a group of grown men and women break out in song to celebrate one of their partners.
6) Eating fresh uni on the beach with a small crew. The uni had been split in the back of a yak and was garnished with a pair of Ty's old dirty shoes. (The presentation needed some work) Probably not my favorite thing in the world to eat but it's definetely good eats.
7) Seeing Liz bring my Marauder all the way back up the hill by herself...after having hauled her own yak about half up the hill.
Congratulations to Ben and thanks to all who participated and especially to those who helped to make it all happen.
Here's to trying to get on the list next year. :beer3
-
What an awesome event!!! I just started kayak fishing last summer and this is actually my first kayak trip in the ocean this year due to personal reasons :smt009. A big thanks to Sean, his family and to the NCKA members for making this event possible. I wished I stayed longer but I had another party to attend that Saturday night. Congratulations to the winners!! Hopefully next year my prowler will be better equipped. It was great meeting a lot of you folks and I hope to hook up with you guys someday.
Cheers

Freddie scored me some urchins and an ab to take home. My wife and I had it for dinner. Thanks Freddie!
It may like look nasty stuff, but this uni sushi and ab sashimi combo platter I made would have easily cost over $30 at any fine Japanese restaurant. I know it's an acquired taste, but I love it!!!!!

Brian didn't even eat them, but he was PROUD....nasty looking stuff! :smt078
That looks WAY more appealing to the palate Chuck :smt002 I think if I didn't witness the actual prep'area and serving surface, I may have tried it. :smt009

Thanks for capturing the moment Buddy!...When in Rome?..do as the Romans.

....back at the camp, the fish were getting filleted and the gear was getting rinsed.....soon, we ate and ate some more....I went to bed/back of veh. around 10pm, most everyone was crashed by then too. Didn't even need my earplugs, til the fire dept. got a call and the engines were running for about an hour....and I thought I was in the QuietZone.
Saturday morning@5:30, Sean had coffee going already and out we went.
I took my time, keeping an eye out down the driveway, like a stalker. Got out there to the same area as the day before. Found the desired reef and just drifted it OVER&OVER&OVER AGAIN!
A 25" Ling was C&R'd right at the beginning, so i thought I was in the RIGHT SPOT....it was getting windier and had to do the one-handed paddle&jig, justto keep the line somewhat vertical.
Pic1~I planned to shadow last years winner JTF, so i did just that, from the start!

Oh, the pain of transition back into the world of jobs & responsibility...
I had even more fun on my year #2 trip. I was glad we were there to cath the tail end of an epic sea condition period, even if it steadily deteriorated over the course of the weekend (it just made it that much more challenging).
Always a good time with friends, and this year I drove up with my wife Laura & my brother in law Jim, which just added to the enjoyment of the experience.
Highlights for me?
-Friday night dinner with EricB, including tequila from a sierra cup
-landing a beauty of a vermilion right outside the launch, on my "hail mary" drop
-seeing Laura, Anita, & Teresa out there in the thick of things, north of Nose Rock
-eating my first deep fried, chocolate battered mint oreo
-seeing all my fishing buds out there, charging it & having the best time doing so
-feeling that palpable sense of proudness & happiness when Ben went up to collect his 1st place award
-pulling out with the Fishunter sendoff, "see you at the Bean"!
I'll be doing my best to make next year #3.
All the usual thanks to Sean & his family, and everyone else who threw in to make things fun, exciting, and well, just cool.
-Sean

Adam, I've never heard it called "Portuguese Abalone" but that's actually better known as the "gumboot chiton" Cryptochiton stelleri and it's the largest chiton in the world. Actually the red ab is the largest abalone in the world as well. Something about all that kelp makes for some giant specimens.

Okay enough being the "fishnerd". I was great to see everyone and I'm so excited that I got that Guitarzan painting of the swimbait, I actually called it. It seems I always win whatever Ben makes. Can't wait to see what you make me next year Ben.

What a great event! Sean and Leah are the best for organizing such an outstanding weekend. THANKS! It was more than worth the time I spent driving from the Santa Barbara area to Elk and back (about 20 hours).
Everyone was really friendly and I totally enjoyed meeting everyone, checking out all of the kayaks and how they were set up. It was fun to hang out with Sean and Laura, not only at Elk, but at their redwood retreat in the mountains behind Santa Cruz on Thursday and Sunday nights, too. Eric B.....what a cool dude......instead of eating a frozen burrito on Friday, he provided the best teriyaki style beef to go with Sean and Laura's sausage and veggies, plus tequila for later. The Saturday pot luck was crazy good. Everyone showed off their A rated dishes. Mooch, he tried to hex me with his banana. I don't know if it worked or not, what can I say?
Even sleeping was a treat. The cacophony of snoring lulled me to sleep.
It was fun fishing a new spot. I let my 25 in. ling go. I'll catch him again in a few years when he'll be a winner. (I'm trying to build good fishing karma for the future.)
ELK ROCKS! Thanks everyone!
-
OK, I have finally gone through my pics and I'm ready for a long report. The nice thing about having a wife that scrapbooks is that I always have plenty of pics when she comes along!
This was our first time at Elk and we loved it! Thanks to Sean and Leah for putting on such a great event. As I've told Sean, I scheduled all of my work vacation around NCKA events this year. Next event is BAM in October and then the Islander Trip. I can't wait!

This was my first real shot at a surf launch. I've been in rough water and strong current in the Bay, but this was something I was looking forward to. Fortunately, it was nice and smooth at the launch. The swells outside of the bay were a bit big later in the day, but overall it was a good lesson for me to learn that my practice and paddling allowed me to paddle with confidence.

The great thing about this event is that is has great fishing and it's a lot of fun for wives and families. My wife met up with Anita (Ben's wife) and Laura (Sean W's wife) and the three of them were able to paddle and explore together. Also there was plenty for the kids.
This was Theresa and Anita's first time in the ocean!

What a blast congrats to Ben on a great win he sure makes it look easy.
Thanks to Shawn a family for another great ELK just gets better every year. :smt007
Thanks for all that cooked it was delicious don’t eat like that every day
I think I will try to come up with some kind of dish for next year, moms
Macaroni salad is the best so I should try that :smt001.
And as for the trek from the camp spot to the launch it is just under a half mile
On the GPS, ouch! I need to build that dam cart or are you sure I can't use
A gas motor I can make it real quiet after all it is not a motorize vehicle
If you are not riding it I can make the gas one real cheap but the electric
Will cost about 400.00 to build. :smt010 :smt009
see you at MBK

All the reports are awsome, I will surely try to make the tourney next year! Kudos on all those pics my Silver and Black brother....(FishHunter) ....Andy

I just thought of this.......maybe next year we could have a big group photo of everyone who attended. Just a thought.
CHEERS!
-
Congrats to all the winners...especially Ben. You definitely deserve it, my man!
I had planned on coming up Friday, but ended up having to work...so I then planned to come up for the day on Saturday, and woke up with a hell of a migraine that got worse through the day. I swear I can't catch a f***ing break. :smt010
Next year...
-
First of all, mega-thanks to the Whites for putting on the tourney. Our entire family had a great time and look forward to next year.
Secondly, congratulations to Ben. Way to go!!
I had a great time, fishing a good solid bite all day long, as I was catching fish all the way until 12:30 or so. Even better was to bust my ab cherry. Let me tell you, when all you've been able to do is dive in the evenings in 6-8 feet of viz, the conditions on Saturday were like a walk in the park. Thanks to Freddie, I started diving an area that actually had snails.

Ouch, Man that sucks :smt009
I had told many that I was not feeling well "Physically", and was glad I made the trek, but what got me was the amount of participants that were also "walking wounded" at the Event...
I had a screwed up Back,
JTF was Nursing a Sprained Knee
someone else came up and showed me a " Heavy Duty " brace on his lower leg,
Just wondering how many others " Patched and Drugged " themselves up to make this event....? :icon_weelchairbb:

Wow! What another great event. Big Whoo-hoo to Ben on the win and the others who placed.
What else can I say that others haven't - Sean and the family put on another fantastic event. I already have dreamy eyes for next year.
Mark thanks for letting my barrow your extra PFD. If it wasn't for your kindness I would have been crying the whole weekend.
Everyone was awesome and so kind and the family truly enjoyed it and can't wait for the next event/get together.
Thanks again Sean and everyone else.
p.s.
We forgot the name of the fellow kayaker who barrowed a kayak seat from Frank and got to caught up in all the excitement and forgot to return it?
now we have a scrambler xt missing a seat.

First thanks again to the White family for hosting this wonderful event. It is the highlight of my year. Thanks to Chris for the 12 year old scotch. Thanks to everyone for all the great food. Congratulations to Ben for a great win, you deserve it. and to Levi with the longest fish, oh well and to Allen for the biggest fish per distance traveled. Levi's mom had a great idea for fundraising. We should put together a recipe book for all the great food at Elk, and all out potluck events really. I think it would be a great idea.

Late to report because CHUB and I didn't get home until 12:15AM Wednesday. We headed to Albion for a few days afterwards.
First want to thank EVERYONE for making this THE premier event of the year.
The food, friends and meeting new people is unparalleled.
To Ben a BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Slow day of fishing for me and CHUB. I did manage one keeper ling which was released.
Great report and pics from everyone.
It was nice to haul the kayaks and gear down the night before.
Just a stroll down the hill in the morning and ready to fish.

After the fishing...party time!!

A huge thanks to the White family for all their hard work. Thanks for letting us participate in the best yakfishing event there is. Congratulations to my good friend Ben for his big ling and well deserved first place. Cool ride too Bro..... Congratulations to Levi for a close second. Too cool that Big Al represented Utah and RMKF with his third place ling. Thank you Chuck and crew for the best fried fish in the world. I just absolutely love seeing all my old friends and all the new ones I made this year. Thank you everyone for my best meal of the year since last august. I really appreciate everyone treating a couple old farts from behind the Zion curtain like faimly. FYI - Total for the trip was 2,600 miles, and worth every penny. Till next year........... :smt006

Had a serious driving hangover but made it home and all back together now. I was not prepared for all Elk was. I was expecting something similar to BAM but geez, Elk is a whole other monster! I haven't talked and fished with so many cool people and eaten so much good food ever!! Fishhunter's pork death roll, Chuck's classic fried fish, Inseine's fresh fried tortilla chips, Fresh cracked open Uni, rock scallop sashimi, pizza's, beer.... Man.. that was an event. Way to make my long trip worth it White's!! :kick You guy's rock!
I made the trip to Cali w/ Bsteves and we pre fished Albion. Nothing too amazing there just some underlings and rockies. Elk turned out some great fishing. On the first drop B hooked up w/ a chunky cabby that stretched out to about 22".
It took me about 30 min but I was lucky enough to catch my personal best rockfish. A 22.5" 7# 11 oz. vermillion. That was awesome.

I also ended up catching 6 lings and lots of other rockfish. That was a hell of a day of fishing for me. And what about the weather and place to fish... talk about beautiful! :smt007

Big up's to everyone in the tourney, especially the winners Guitarzan, Levi, and Al. You guys slayed. Also wanted to say how cool it was to meet more of the NCKA crew. Lot's of cool people. If you're in my neck of the woods, gimme a ring and let's yakfish for salmon!

I must admit.....Elk was a completely different event than CSBA (my first NCKA event)! CSBA was a blast but we were kinda spread out in our own little camps mostly except when on the water or at the BBQ. Elk was one wonderful mass of humanity ....where you only had to exit your tent to be in the thick of things. Everywhere you turned there was someone new, to place a face to a name or nickname. The hill, ocean, food and fishing were only the icing on the cake for me, as meeting and talking with everyone was the real experience.
Congratulations Ben on the tourney win with the chubby ling!
My sincere thanks to the White Family, the Greenwood Community Center, and the Town of Elk for being such gracious hosts. We all hope we will be invited back. Allen L.

Great photos, how about more slide shows?

Thank you all for the congrats, and yet another awesome weekend!
I think my arteries are slowly beginning to unclog from the CBDPODFOC’s (cake-batter-dipped-peanut-oil–deep-fried-Oreo-cookies). And my wimpy SoCal bones are finally shaking off the chill from that 49 deg. water.
NCKA at Elk is truly a slice of heaven and the distance traveled is always well worth it. Guitarzan’s rotundasaurus ling was to be marveled. I had my sights on that Trident Ben, but as my pop gently put it: “Anorexic fish don’t win tournaments.” The Yak Rod is no consolation prize…nicest rod I’ve ever owned…can’t wait to test it out down here this weekend.
I really miss fishing with all y’all…looking forward to the next opportunity!

Levi, it's great to see you and your family make the long trip two years in a row. We all miss seeing your fishing reports and "Levi signature fish sniffer poses" with already bigger than average fish. If I remember correctly, you've always done well at Elk, so seeing you win 2nd place was no surprise. I'm glad your family got to witness your glory.
-
Thanks to Sean and Leah for putting on another great event at Elk! I look forward to seeing all the peeps at Bam.
John
-
Big thanks to the White family, the town of Elk, the greenwood cc, and everyone involved in making this event so special. When asked by friends and family how the weekend went I find myself talking more about how cool everyone was and how great the food was, more so than the fishing (which was off the hook as you can see by all the quality fish everyone caught!!!)
Great friends, great food, great weather, great fishing... can't wait for BAM.
