Just got a second before I run back out the door - but the majority of the folks fished at Fort Ross, some fished Ocean Cove, and a few fished the beaches of Bodega Bay. A little breezy in the morning at Fort Ross and pretty much souped in with fog, but very manageable. I "mooched" off of Erik's fishfinder and shadowed him most of the morning. We both hooked some nice RF and some smaller lings. Around 1:00PM the wind started HOWLING and, after a little excitement, most of us got off the water.

I ended up winning AOTD with a 29.5" Ling and a 23" Vermillion. Kayaked's buddy - sorry I forgot your name came in a close second with a 29.5" ling and a 20" (I think) RF.

It was great to meet the folks I met for the first time and good to see some familiar faces.

The BBQ was bomb...once again.

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

More later but here are pix of the "homeboy" AOTD and his catch. Seasoned divers on the beach were marveling at the size of the vermillion.

Congrats, Dustin.  The Vermillion is a beauty.

Hi Dustin,

Congragulations again on winning the tourney. What a great day on the water. Mike Schroeder came in second place. Mike and I were fishing north of Ocean cove and all was quiet in the thick fog, when a loud woosh blasted behind me and in front of Schroeder, it was a whale we were only in  80 ft of water, scared the crap out of us. I had a 21 inch red and a 21 inch copper of the red variety but no ling love. I did have a big ling on twice the same one, brought him up about half way and he came unbuttoned then dropped the lure back down and he nailed it again before it hit bottom and came unbottoned again.Well thats fishing. What a great meal we had, too much food too list. I hope we can do it again
