Ive heard from some reviews that this kayak is not meant for "big people" hips rubbing etc. I was curious if anyone has experienced this problem? I am 6' 190 lbs so I think I will be fine but just wanted to make sure.

My experience is that you are on the line of fine.  I've heard that much over than might be a bit snug fitting.

It all really depnds on your particular build and personal comfort.
I'm 5'8" 195# and the Scupper Pro TW was a wet paddle for me. I have paddled a scupper classic and quite enjoyed it though.
Test paddle the kayak if at all possible, it is the only way to be sure.

just from the hip, I'd agree with Fishingforthecure. ya gotta sit in it to really know.

I'm 6ft 190lbs and my butt barely fits in the Scupper Pro. For diving, I would strongly consider getting a different kayak--something more stable with better storage options and more deck space. Like an OK Trident. Or Wilderness Systems Tarpon. You s/b able to find a used one in the same price range of ~500 bucks.

I agree that you really need to paddle one and see how it feels.  I paddled sit inside boats for years, and felt helpless if I wasn't skirted in with good thigh braces so I could roll.  I bought OC Trident 113's for my sons and started using them for diving.  They were plenty stable, but when I tried to surf them, I got broached and flipped.  Felt pretty helpless without thigh straps.

I'm 6'-1"/190.  I tried and then bought a Scupper pro.  What I like about it is that the seat is lower and more snug than any other SOT I've paddled.  It's also narrower so I can control it, instead of just riding on it.  I can surf it into the beach and have even side surfed it without getting flipped.

Yes, it's a wet ride, and yes it's narrow and feels more tippy than a bigger, wider yak, but I've dove and fished from it in some fairly choppy stuff with no problems.

Really need to demo one and decide for yourself.

Hmm, think I'll throw some thigh straps on the Scupper and try some rolls...

It's a good yak but can be tippy when you least expect it.  :smt009

Go with the T15 or T13 much more stable.

Ron S,
How was rolling the scupper pro?
What changes, if any, did you have to make in your roll that were different from rolling a SIK?
Are you documenting?

I also have an interest in transferring traditional SIK skills over to the SOT boats and would really appreciate your experience.

Thanks

The weather hasn't cooperated too well up here and the times I've been able to get out on the water I've had all my gear for kokanee trolling.  Waiting for some time on a calm day to go out and try some rolls.  I'll post up the results if I survive...

Ron.
