Dang! News like this is pushing me more and more to the dark side.  It seems though that the GW is just taking a bite of anything that is floating out there.  Thinking maybe that its a dead whale or a seal.  I wonder if anything can be done to let it know before it even takes a bite.  For some kayaks it could be the end with just one bite.  Better add more pool noodles inside that hatch.  Sure glad Harry and Ted came out okay.

Harry (dropnpop) was on grey hobie outback, he is very lucky. I have pics/video but will let harry see them before posting them with a report. I will say I saw the back end of the shark as it re-entered the water. The bite marks left were 16" across x 23" vertical and made 5 or 6 large thru holes. Luckily it was a one shot deal and the shark did not return.

Kayak fishing in Nor Cal is Hard Core, glad everything turned out OK. Seems Hobies, Globally, are the sharks choice.

I am damned glad you guys are OK.
It always amazes me with all the furbags out there that a kayak gets an 'inspection' from the landlord.
I will be interested to know what the conditions were like that day...when and if you are ready to report.
I would also be interested to know where the kayak got hit and whether or not you were under way or just drifting.
I will say it again. I am damned glad you guys are OK. It really pisses me off when the tax man F#ks with one of my brothers.

Holy Sht again!!?? WTF??  I'm glad you guys are both ok!  I was just thinking the other day that we almost made it through the year without a shark sighting or attack at the bean/pigeon point.   :smt009  Now, Let's wait to see all the sharkhuggers downplay how "RARE" it is to get hit by a shark.   :smt010

Man 20 FOW that's nuts, glad everyone is ok

No doubt. First thing that came to my mind when reading Joel's post.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
