Wow,
Just read the whole thread for the first time.
Harry glad you returned safely and I'm sure your mortgage with the landlord is now paid in full.
Time will heal the emotional scars.
Ted major props for being there for a brother, another reason to not go out alone.

crazy stuff!  so, i used to work on downhill snow skis and i still have the p-tex gun and a bunch of old p-tex.  i could probably do a pretty solid repair on the holes if you wish.  alan

Holy Cow! I just heard & read about this for the 1st time. Late to chime in but I still mean it with the utmost sincerity: Stoked to hear you're both OK! Seriously, that is the most important part here. Thank you for sharing the experience---this is the type of info that will benefit all of us.
Take care, and know you've got family here if you need help w/anything!

Sorry you had to go through this, and super glad you came out OK.....

Not to wave the bony finger, but:

We've had a bunch of discussion on GWS on this site, and particularly about that area.

I've fished this coast for a very long time, and one of my good buddies is a major researcher on GWS.  His advice to me (which I mostly heed) is just NOT to kayak fish that area between October through March.  (though the GWS can be in the area at any time, this is "cafeteria time" for them)

I would urge all who haven't as yet, refer to a series of articles Paul Lebowitz and I put together last year for Kayak Angler Magazine.  You can read it online for free, lots of good info on recent history as well as strategies for avoidance.

Again, glad you guys are safe and I hope I never have to feel like you did in that video, in shock over a very narrow escape.  Hope I can fish with you both soon.

Glad no one got hurt. This area of SMC is proven a high risk area to fish. For those of you that fish this area please Don't go out there solo.

Glad to hear no one was hurt... November is a BIG month for shark research at Ano Nuevo due to the Elephant Seals pupping.

Very true but how come we never hear of any attacks on people who surf Waddell Creek? It's just a stones throw from Ano Nuevo.

I met a surfer that was bit there
