Last night things kept up with good catches.  I didn't fish but there were many limits and great water. A buddy of mine who fished caught one to 10 lbs and said dolphin and seals were smashing bait.  Not many birds working but tons of bait.

I will try again tonight from the beach possibly using a snag rig if the bite is slow.

Linda Mar looked like a lake this morning so water should be clean all day.  I can't imagine launching from rockaway unless you have a good report on swell activity.  From talking to surfers the reason many of them don't surf it often is because the water is difficult to predict.

However, what do I know I have only yaked in the Bay and have yet to make my first beach launch.

it would be easier to launch at kinda mar and paddle to rockaway, especially if the beach is crowded with surf anglers
