Does anyone know of a conentional reel, new or old, that reels both backwards and forwards??? Kind of like a spinning reel can do only in a conventional reel.
Thanks.

How big Mike before drags they all were. I have a Penn 185 that does, some of of the abu's have a switch that you can flip to make it a knuckle buster, not conv. but many of the Canadian moohing reels are still knuckle busters.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Penn Squidder will do the same and is a solid reel.  They made a smaller model of it too when they released the 501 jigmaster.

Penn 310 GTI has a lever that allows it to have the anti reverse  or reel in either direction .

You would be amazed at how many people who work in the fishing department, specifically the reel department, of a few specialized stores ( Sportsman's Warehouse, Wild Sports) don't know this. I asked them and they said there was no such thing. I then had them hand me that reel from behind the glass and showed them. They had no clue.
