hello to all, I'm picking up a new/used kayak this friday evening, a tarpon 160 and I'm in dire need of a paddle.  I'm looking for a used paddle that will accomodate a  28.5 wide tarpon and a 6'1" 180 lb kayak fisherman.  Trying to find something in the 40 to 70 dollar range as I'll be stretching myself thin on fishin expense money with the new yak,

anyways, just hoping I can gauge what I'll want to purchase later when I purchase a new paddle.  the only paddle i've ever used consistently was my hobie mirage paddle.  you can pm me here or respond here if you like. thanks. John

Tou can get a used one at a kayak shop for around $30.00  it's not much but it will get you started.

JTF - congrats on the new ride! How does it feel to be a "paddler" instead of a "peddler"  :smt002

Bill is gonna let me borrow one tomorrow until I can get another one, I would actually buy that one you have though whenever we can hook up and fish, if I like it, I'll use it all the time and buy a cheapy for when I take girls out on my friends double.  If not, vice versa.  Thanks Sean.  When I picked up the tarpon yesterday I saw the sign to Ukiah, man thats a drive you make to come down here.  I still have yet to grow accustomed to the roads above San Rafael.
