I'll be there on Sat with pork belly skewers. Hoping to use someone's grill to finish them off but I'll try to bring my own smokey joe. Beers in the cooler and I'm going deep (for the ai guys that wanna go too!).

The forecast for this weekend just turned to shit. :smt009

Saturday
NNW wind 5 to 7 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the morning. Mostly sunny. W swell 9 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Sunday
Variable winds 5 kt or less. A slight chance of showers before 11am. W swell 11 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Looks like a good weekend to stay on shore.

WEATHER/WIND: Light to moderate offshore winds early morning, slacking off mid morning, before turning light+ out of the NW direction for the afternoon.

Below is the forecast. It has improved, but Laura and I will still be there for the chill part only, as its still not very good. Can't stress enough about checking out the map that G-Whiz posted; where not to set pots. Also about the having rope floating on the surface; this could disable a boat and it could easily end up on the rocks - with its occupants! Stay safe and happy crabbing for those that go for it.

Note sure where you are getting your weather forecast. This is what I am seeing.

http://marine.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.48326811600049&lon=-122.47191616399971#.WBoDFvSdeqZ

Saturday
Variable winds 5 kt or less. Sunny. WSW swell 6 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Checking swellinfo.com (surfing intel site) sez:

SURF FORECAST
AMPM
TODAY
8-10 ft   6-10 ft
SURF
Well overhead high W ground swell with occasional double overhead high sets.
CONDITIONS
Clean in the morning with ENE winds 5-10mph. Glassy conditions for the afternoon with the winds shifting SW less than 5mph.
WIND   SWELL
6am
E 4mph   W
9.3 ft @ 16sec
9am
E 6mph   W
8.9 ft @ 15sec
12pm
SSW 3mph   W
8.6 ft @ 15sec
3pm
NW 4mph   W
8.2 ft @ 15sec
6pm
NW 6mph   W
7.9 ft @ 15sec

So even though it calls for "glassy" wind conditions later Saturday, the base swells are still coming in at "overhead height and occasional double-overhead."   :smt104

I like a good rodeo as much as the next kayaker, but this sounds pretty intense....
