NewB to downrigging, and pedal drive.  I have 4 locations that I think make sense for mounting my Scotty downrigger.  I want it removable.  Where would you mount - A, B, C or D?  Or other location?  I think 'D' works best.

I am right handed, does that matter?
Best to have it slightly behind (out of the way)?
Best to have it beside (right next to me)?
Best to have it in front of me (slight lean to deal with it)?

Safety First / Man saved from dying at Folsom Lake

"...two men were on a boat at Folsom Lake Friday and were dredging for a plane that had crashed during the 1960s.  For unclear reasons their boat overturned during their operations"

Inland waters, can I assume VHF radio could have prevented this?  I started carrying one this summer, thinking I wanted it for cold water emergencies among other reasons.

Hi all--- joined at advice of a nice guy I meet on the banks; his call name "ATD".  He was right- this forum is really great.  Been a floater for years, now my first Kayak (wow, much easier than pontoon boat assembly).  Fish for the fun of fishing- that means targeting trout and bass, really whatever bite is happening in my area.
