Hey,

Name is Patrick.  I bought a used hobie outback last year and have been out around the marin islands a bunch, sisters and in the delta a couple of times.  I love to fish...used to be a river flyfishing elitist but have since seen the light about how much the bay and ocean can offer and its right here.  I have a few friends who go out on the bay, but would love to know more.  I'm still a bit timid about going alone to challenge big currents and shipping lanes in my Yak, but I would love to get over it and explore more.

I'm going out on Sunday.  Cheers and thanks for having me.

Patrick

Welcome. I'm in San Rafael. Your story of going from river FF'er to taking advantage of what is immediately around is the same as mine. See you out there.

Where did you fly fish and for what species? I just got in to kayak fishing also, but learning as I attempt the different challenges. Just fished the American River for Stripers and hooked something extremely large that drug the kayak down stream then up stream for 30 minutes before my pole broke, then the line. Never saw the fish, but it was a rush.
