Thank you all for the kind words. It makes it easy to put together when I have great footage of people and places.
Nice video Chris!  Did you use a sort of stabilizer arm or was it just a selfie stick?

I have a EVO GP Pro gimbal for the gopro. I picked it up a couple of years ago before they started getting popular and we had options. They make a huge difference in the final product.

Finished up the video from the trip. A long drive from Az but always worth it. Best group of people hands down. Hope to see everyone soon!!

Headed up today. Does anyone have room for a tent and truck at a site for Fri and Sat??

Yes site C16 has room for a tent and a truck. Just leave room for my van (I sleep in it). I'm heading up in a couple of hours. I should be there around 3:00.

The registration name is Daniel Diaz

I really appreciate it Daniel. I was able to squeeze in at another site when I got here. Thanks, Chris

For Sale / Hobie Mirage Sport Pricing Help Needed
« on: October 19, 2014, 12:39:49 PM »
Need some help fellow NCKA'ers. Out here in Arizona and loosing my mind. Can anyone help me out on a counter offer?? I have no experience with the Hobie Mirage drive and need some help. I would love to pick up a better kayak for my trips back to Cali, but just don't know what these are worth. Now that I am living in the desert I expect there is less of a kayak following out here. My wife would be stoked to have a kayak she doesn't need to paddle all of the time. Any help is appreciated.

 KAYAK - $1500 (Fountain Hills)

Hobie Mirage Sport sit-on kayak. Fabulous kayak. Mirage drive: propel effortlessly with foot pedals or use paddles. Purchased new in September for $1900. Used only twice. Great cargo space but my kayaking dog needs more room! Sacrifice for $1500 includes paddles. 480-two99-six 8 nine 0

So incredibly bummed I couldn't make it this year. This last year has been tough for me away from all my NCKA brothers and sisters I have made in the last couple of years. I'm in the last couple of months of school right now and my schedule wouldn't allow for GS8 or the upcoming Albion tirp. Glad everyone made it up and back safe and sound. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

A thank you to everyone who posts up pics of the event, those of us who couldn't make it appreciate them more than you can imagine!!

It is impossible to describe the friendships, and connections you make through this site. Most people don't understand when you try to explain what NCKA is and what it is all about. All I know is these are some of the best people you can ever meet, and some of the best memories you can make!!

I have been looking forward to GS8 since I started my drive home from GS7 last year!! Now that I think of it that was the last time my yak touched the water. Pretty sure I can get the week off, just need to make sure I can get away from school. The GS events are the highlight of the year for me, hope to see everyone soon.

Apologies for letting the thread hang......Duty calls....toilets to scrub, rigs to wash, and folks having tooo much fun at Lake Tahoe, gotta Love It!
my dream job  :smt007  If I only had the health  :smt011
Joel with your compassion and heart of a Warrior I would push down a rolling hallway knowing you got my back Brother , but  the Chief would still not  let you put a your yak or SUP on top of the Engine. :smt003

Danglin, add a small heater, put studs or chains on that thing for the winter....... :smt044

Can you ask them to hold the position for a year?? J/K Big Jim sent me a text about this.
Starting medic school this Saturday and will finish in 11 months. It was nice meeting you up at Shelter Cove this year. Getting frustrated out here in Arizona since none of my certs really transfer. I stopped watching the news because they keep showing the wildfires, it's a bummer not having the opportunity to go on them anymore. Thanks for posting this up and stay safe.

Chris, We have been hiring 1-3 FF/Medics a year for the last few years so do not despair, keep focused on Paramedic School, it may seem like school is taking forever but keep your eye on the prize.  Some great advice from Jim and Danglin.  As another Brother FF said
good luck with medic school chris... lets get you moved back to Cali do we can fish and camp again!
:smt006  PM me Anytime .    Russ

Sound good Russ, Medic school is my top priority. I'll get out of it what I put into it so I will give it everything. Heck my wife is even preparing for it... I have been doing all kinds of projects around the house that we have been wanting to do. The past couple of days she has come home from work with all the supplies needed from Home Depot that she picked up on her lunch.

I always love the open ended questions of "are you sure", "are you sure" like you are doing something wrong. You rack your brain thinking you are missing something, tell them yes I'm sure, then you get the quick "ok, just checking" from the preceptor.

Thanks again guys, and hopefully I'll be able to see everyone soon.

Thanks guys for the tips and motivation! Really wanted to make it to Albion to meet up with everyone just couldn't swing it this year.
Just the other day I checked out the drug profiles on the state site, gonna have my work cut out for me, I think there were 118 pages of drugs. Getting ahead of the game is a common theme with the folks I have talked to so far. Thanks again for the tips.
