Some people are just like that Mooch. For some it's just a natural hatred. I had a 6'6" colombian red tail Boa that was bigger around then my wrist. All the neighborhood kids would come over to watch her eat. I had two friends that were bouncers at a local chico bar. They broke my sliding glass door running out of my house when I walked into the room with the Snake. The Snake eventually died after biting my x-wife. Go figure!

Hey Mooch, check these guys out, I raised 'em from pups! Had one that was twice as big too, a 12 foot burmese python at 65 lbs. These are boa constrictors, very healthy and fat.

Ben told me he is training them to open rear Kayak hatches from the inside. :smt003
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

This is my three year old hugging an Alberts White Lipped Python. She spotted a guy walking with it last Fourth of July and insisted that we stop.

OK....everyone knows my FEAR for snakes. Anyway, back when I was doing a lot of backpacking trips (twice a month for a year) with my "Friends"(former REI coworkers)....we were up in Greagle area and did a short - 6 miles hike to one of the 3 lakes that were up in the mountains. We got a site that was a hundred yards away from the water and I was looking forward to doing nothing but fishing so I planned to get up early the next day. Well, the night before, my "Friends" decided to play a little prank on me - that I will never forget  :smt011 The "demons" aka "my friends" brought along a 6 ft rubber snake......tied the head on the snake with 5 feet of fishing line (from my fishing rod that I left unattended :smt011) and then tied it on one of my flip flops right next to my tent.....the demons (my friends) then tucked the rubber snake under the rain fly of my tent to keep it out of sight. Morning came, I unzip my tent, stood up and slipped my hobbit feet into my sandals....and as I walked away from my tent to drain the lizard (take a piss) ....I felt a little weight on my left flip flop...so I look behind me and saw this 6 ft man eating snake following me :smt118.....and obviously, I RAN like a Gold Medalist Sprinter   :walk:   and screamed like a little girl that just skinned her knee on the playground  :smt091 And no matter how fast I ran, the damn snake was keeping up with me  :smt009 All the while, the demons made things worse by chasing me with sticks and stones.....pretending to try to "save my life" by throwing everything they could grab at the 6-foot-man-eating-snake that was chasing me around the campsite  :smt013 Let's just say that "Thank God" my reel was loaded with only 6 pound mono coz after doing laps around the campsite, I finally did a hurdle over a downed tree branch and the 6-foot-man-eating -snake "snagged' and broke off my flip flop........I finally out ran the serpent  :kick Victory was mine but the battle was not over. I looked over to see if the demons were OK....well, they were all rolling in the ground and drowning  :smt043   in tears of laughter   :smt093 I had no energy left to get upset, so I found a comfortable place to sit and watched the demons pee on themselves  :smt019

I'm just glad I did not have power pro on my spool at the time  :smt118 :smt100

I must admit, that was the best trick ever played on me  :smt045.....beside that, I think the Bendo at Mendo "Pig's Head inside my kayak hatch" comes in pretty close to second  :snorting:

:smt044 Too funny the best part is I can picture every step you took. Thank god you have a strong heart, snakes don't bother me but I think that would have got me too.
