Welcome Larry.

Sorry, I am not close to you, or I would take you out fishing.  Im sure you will find someone here that would be willing to show the ropes though.

Good luck!  Hope you start catching soon.

What were you trying to catch? I would start with a local lake or reservoir that get stocked with trout. Troll with a Rapala J-7 lure (topline) shad or firetiger pattern or anchor down and use powerbait.

Welcome aboard Larry  :smt006  You shouldn't have problem catching Striper Bass where you live.  Use live baits like Bullhead or Mud Sucker for better chances.

Hi Larry

How much fishing experience do you have?
Type of fish you are targeting?
Kayak model you own?
Distance willing to travel?

If you answer these questions, it might narrow down the answer.
