I saw 4-5 boats this morning, about a mile north of scribble hill (sand city). That's the closest they've been to MBK so far this season.

There are a bunch of macks in that area right now. I would cruise out towards the red mile buoy and get some dabs first, then target rockfish/lings (technically can't use more than 2 hooks once you have rockfish onboard). Maybe even troll a plug or spoon between spots or when sailing to load up on macks too.

Yes, the "Alien" Monterey tour. Red buoy for dabs first, then troll a sabiki or small kastmaster down to the yellow can for macs then fish the yellow can for rocks and lings. Use the dabs and macs for ling bait. Then head in for shore lunch at 1PM. My first saltwater kayak trip was with Alex (Alien) and Eugene (E2G) 10 years ago out of MBK and we did this route. I was with my son in a Malibu 2XL. Some things never change. Fishing was better then though. I plan on arriving at MBK around 630-7AM. Parking at the parking lot just north of MBK, shore lunch at the picnic tables. I'll have 3# of squid also which works well there.

George, I can swing by your house and caravan down if desired.

Scott
That's great.  Google map says the morning drive will take about 2 hours. So meet at my house at 4:30am? I'll load up the yak tonight.

Well fishing sucked but the sailing was great! We had 7 AI's for the event and had about 9kt wind starting at 1100AM. Really perfect ocean sailing conditions for the AI.

Nice pics Scott! I'm sure you will zero in on the pink meat soon.

We didn't target chrome today, too late a start. Etienne launched at 4AM and was the first to draw chrome blood for the central coast islanders this year, but I will let him tell his story. We will get them dialed in.

Thanks Scott for the hookup, had a great time meet a bunch of nice guys, had a great sail and caught some fish not many but some. Sorry for the late post but took some time to clean my gear. The first pic is of my buddy with his new 2015 AI it definitely faster and dryer, talk with him after he said he got a lot of over spray but his bow never went under like you can see in Scotts first pic thats me, not to say it won't he is new to sailing he did real well out there.
