When the salmon action is hot at Duxbury, Bolinas is the place to launch.

When you get into downtown Bolinas just follow the road around to where the lagoon empties into the ocean and drop your equipment at the gate at the end of the road:

You can park along the side of the road but get there early, otherwise you may have to park quite a distance away.

At low tide, launching/landing can be a bit tricky because the outflow from the lagoon meets the incoming waves and makes for an unpredictable, but doable, mess.  Be aware that this area is a State Marine Conservation Area and has some restrictions

Salmon are a medium sized GWs favorite food, and the big ones surely eat them too.  Any coincidence that stinson shark sightings/attacks are most common in late summer, when the salmon are at dux and nearer the shore?  I don't think so.  When you're on the school of salmon, you're on the school of whites too.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
