What ever happened to "The Customer is always right"  I have never been there John but when you are spending your money somewhere there is no excuse for being treated rudely.
I guess we should boycott the Cellar Door also.

I am searching for a shop in Sacramento that sells 7" fishtraps.  I have been looking at all the local places (including fisherman's warehouse) and I have not had any luck.

travis,

the bighammer website  www.swimbait.com often has great deals on old colors.

I got some gold with redfleck and green back and caught three lingcod in 5 minutes with it on a
4oz leadhead.

good luck.

I was passing through Vacaville about a month or so ago and saw this place right off Highway 80.  I only had about 10 minutes to check it out, but the selection was huge, They even have a shooting range in there.  I only able to do a quick recon mission, in and out.  It was big, lots off equipment, and nice people.  Anyone else been there?

Jmairy~
What is the name of the color you got?? I checked out the site. Since I am color blind too many of them look the same to me. Halloween, Atomic Punk, Green Machine, Wrathchild, Kelp Critter; they all look pretty much the same to me.

tote, I don't recall the color name.  Maybe something like red olive herring?

I would have stuck with the anchovy colored ones except KZ said he did well with
the green color, so I tried 'em and they work, but I would not hesitate to toss an anchovy
pattern either dark, in black and purple, or light in white and black/blue.

I just looked and they don't offer the 7" anymore, only 6",  :smt013.

the tuna slider pack of 40 for $16.99 looks like a good deal tho. any of those chovy
colors seem to work great.

they shipped me 50 5" dark anchovy and 50 5" light anchovy 2nds by mistake
one time and told me to keep them since they were the ones that split easily
(bad soft plastic).  so it'll be awhile before I need more swimbaits...

fishtrapp lures still offers a 7" and those are great, just a little more pricey.

There is a new tackleshop in Santa Cruz.  It is called (I think) Anglers Arsenal and is on 41'st Ave. down towards pleasure point.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the Angler's Arsenal down in SoCal, but I went in to check it out.

Sort of a mix of everything.  I would have liked to have seen a larger supply of bass plastics, but oh well.  It was a bit pricey, but to have a dedicated tackleshop so close is good.  They can't mark up shimano stuff do to how shimano deals with its dealers so I can get my claurus rod for Xmas there for the cheapest anywhere.

I think they were asking 120 for an ABU 6500C# which is very high, but the other reels looked fairly reasonable.  They had a big stock of reels.

Most importantly, they had gulp sand crabs (at 7.50 a pouch ouch!).  I am gonna get me some of those for the perching.

Man nice work that is a great list.

One not there you should have from the 925 area code.

Gotcha Bait and Tackle
3500 E 18th St
Antioch, CA 94509
Phone: (925) 706-7400

Not a great selection of tackle although they generally have what you might be missing on the way to the water.
What they do have is a lot of types of bait; live included.
And they are just before the Antioch bridge.

Jeff

Originally I got into fishing to fish.

Virgs is our best local tackle shop- and the only place in the north coast that I know of where you can get bigger jig heads and plastics.

Andy, I was only listing northern California haunts (approx Monterey on up) unless poster suggested any out of the area. Give me a complete name, address and phone number...and I'll add it to the list.
