Make it 137 since most people will get there the day before the tourney!  :smt003

1/2 ounce, clear, fish very shallow, like right under your boat...   :smt003

Seriuosly though, anything works!  I like drifting chovies or herring right off the bottom because a salmon or halibut might show up, but the classic 4 or 6 ounce leadhead with white or red split-tail scampi and other common jigs will get you there.   :smt001

Thanks for that info, Mike.  If the opener up here is on May 15th again (as it likely will be) the tournee will be on Sunday, May 15th.  So arriving Saturday and staying at least through Monday will be a good plan.  There are some great tides a littler later in the week for anyone who hangs over a few days.  If you hang over for a few weeks we'll call it "Sledging".   :smt003

Hey now...someone has to do it......HA!!  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 And Hell yes count me in...Game ON... :smt001  be cool to see some stay a few extra days...BigJ/Jimbo/and fellow NCKA peeps...I'm ready to "Get Some"

For tackle, my bread and butter is a knife jig with a shrimp fly above it, both tipped with squid.  I had a greenling, and a monster cabbie on the clip before my tumble into the abyss.  I am also with Black Ab, drifting bait, be it herring, sardines, anchovies, or even whole squid works well when you want to catch a mixed bag.

Shelter Cove, California.  You leave 101, take a time-warp, and land in Alaska.   :smt004
