Title: Snakes need Home
Post by: Bushy on August 20, 2015, 06:48:12 PM
It's time to say goodbye to Midge and Mr. Python.

Midge is a black mexican king snake about 6 foot long.

Mr Python is, yes, a python.  Ball or Royal python.  Only 4 feet long but super wide.

Tade for something interesting.  Value at a pet shop would be 150-200
4 but mail order they list around 50-75....

I like musical instruments, tools, guns, and (ahem) fishing stuff.  Also like motivational stories which could result in a 100% discount.

Each eats two live mice every two weeks.  EZ care.

Terrariums and heat pads, lamps come with.

My kids are grown up now and I want the desktop space back.

Both are eminently handleable.  King snake has struck at me once in 10 yrs, and missed because he is stupid. (I had stressed him out in a pillowcase for transport to my wife's 4th grade classroom.  yeah, right....come touch the snake kids....SNAP!

Has to be to a responsible new owner.  though I don't want them here anymore i do care for these guys.

If you don't find someone who's interested in trading for them and you just need a good, new home for them, let me know. I know the owner of a reptile rescue and sanctuary up here in the north bay that accepts surrendered reptiles. Good luck !

His name is Joe Lam and he founded the non-profit JNW Reptile Rescue in Vallejo. Joe is awesome and is super passionate about reptiles (and amphibians). He was telling me a story a few weeks ago about growing up in San Francisco and seeing frog eggs laid in the gutter next to his family's apartment. That was the moment he knew that he wanted to study reptiles and amphibians from then on. They do reptile rescue, adoptions, run a reptile sanctuary program, offer educational shows to schools, offer a kids reptile club, and do rattlesnake removal. Really cool guy, and he's an avid fisherman to boot.

His website is www.jnwreptiles.com
