I had heard the sturgeon bite was hot in the Delta/ Pittsburgh area. I had to get out there and see it for myself. I had invited a couple of my boating buddies to come and join me this past Sunday because boy I'll tell you, those strong current in my Hobie Outback was like a roller coaster ride.  :smt044 The weather was just right, slight breeze with no chops. It was a beautiful day! 4 guys, a boat and a half later or should I say, a boat and a quarter later, we went home before 10 a.m(launched at 7) with limits of dino's and 3 striper. I was glad I had made the decision to get out there in my Hobie Outback, "Reel Tight". Good luck to all out there and be safe, tight lines!!!

I launch out of the Pittsburgh marina then track south, south west. Pretty much past the smoke stacks.

Which way? Upstream or down?

Basically down stream. If launching out of Pittsburgh make a left and go a couple of miles.

I’ve been tryin to figure that out myself since it’s so tight to get a proper measurement. Lucky Ive invited my boating buddies so I docked next to their boat to properly measure my catch. But I think if you were on the kayak you’d have to shore land it to property measure it.

I hold a tape at 40 at the fork and if its longer than the end than it's a keeper.  It would be quite clear if it was over 60...wouldn't know though...never been there... :smt006
