General Talk / Reel Repair(Drag Upgrades to Carbon) and General Maintenance

Since the Reel Master AlanT. retired, I found this local guy and sent him my 6yr. old ShimanoTR100, my 3yr.old Diawa Sealine(Salt) and both my Shimano(freshwater spinners to be cleaned and new Carbon Drag washers installed. I had them back in 2 weeks.
So far they are running smooth as butta'!!

Swell is between 6-8, but the wind is 5-15kts. Which is doable, but boarderline with the swell. Weekend looks shot, so this could be it.

Gearing Up and Rigging Up / Promar Folding Nets from HOOK1= BIGGER is better!

I just cashed in my HOOK1 Gift Cert' from last years Paddle It Forward and picked up the new big Promar Folding Net. Hook1 did not have it in stock, but Chad Hoover (the new owner) made it happen VERY FAST and easy. I had a smaller version and it served me VERY WELL for 5 years(and counting) I just wanted to share it with the crew if any of you were trying to decide on a net = this is the type that you will be very happy with for a long time. One hand and one thumb is all that is required to deploy it. I got my first game clip too= you guys got me doing some "selective" harvesting these last couple of seasons. Thanks fellas!!

might be the last chance.......i sure hope not, but the WX look doable. I played FisHarvester last monday, so this time I plan to CP&R. The Full moon on fri-nite will kill the bite, but i'm sure something will be hungry.

swell is as low as it can go...the wind will drop below 5kts tonite. the bite has been slow in the am, but picking up on the outgo(go figure?).
I am feeling a 2hr+ O'dark:30 whiteknuckler up north to:

~Take advantage of a midweeker at Timber Cove?

~Ocean Cove? doesnt this place charge alot $$ and gets hit hard by the campers?

~ Salt Pt./Grestle cove?

anyone get the same memo from Mother??

WX sez the wind will drop to 5kts over sat'nite. Swell is right at the boarderline of doable. = so it should be doable.....the only thing that will put a hamper on this is themorning long incomming tide.
anyone else thinking bout hitting it?

I give up on the SMC / SC area,,,,,,,I wanna catch more than a black. Winds are forcasted to drop down to 5 tonite, wind swell is low, ground swell is doable. Low Tide may be the curse in am, but if the wind stays down, the tide will turn and it should turn on!!

anyone hitting it?

You do the work, he sells you the parts(cheap) you buy some stuff at the shop and EVERYONE goes home HAPPY!!
I have done this for 4seasons straight = worth every dollar I have saved and worth every trophy fish I have caught and released.

Please ask yourself this before you go out. Then make the wise choice.
I was there for my first Real_ yakfish&jig when Dan got hit.(see pic 1)
I was there when it came up to Ben.
I was there when it circled and followed Sean.
I have heard of 6 other sightings/what the fuck was thats!?!

crunch the numbers......in 12 months of "opened season" there + 9 encounters that I know of = Shark Infestation

.........so if you plan to go there this season, please ask yourself one question.
