My friend Tim joined me at the port this AM.  We launched at 6:30 and hit the barge canal hard before venturing out into the basin and DWC.  Topwater was the call today.  Finished up at 11 when it started getting warm.  We each bagged around a dozen bass, mostly in the 10-12 inch size along with a couple of 3 pounders.  Photos to follow soon.

Here ya go.  Yea his mouth is open.....how do you close it for the photo without losing the fish, getting barbed or killing the fish?

Let it relax.  I keep bass in a release net at the side of the yak for about 30 seconds, they relax and you can snap a quick closed mouth pic.

Looks like you had a blast!

Thanks for the reply......a thrashing fish is tough to hold on too without killing the little sucker!

Similar to what Crash said I'll put him back in the water connected to the fish grips for a bit. Sometimes though you have to apply a bit of pressure (very little) to keep the mouth closed.

I was told to slide it forward so the mount presses against the hog trough to close the mouth.

Adding to wait crash said, tilt the hawg trough at an downwards angle so the fish is slightly up against the butt of the board, helping to close mouth.
