If you tap the 3 lines in the upper right corner it brings up a menu bar that includes "messages" on it.
If you tap the three dots it will ask  " new pm".   Or "reply". You cannot be in a thread to do it though.

Got it. No three dots. If I click on the three lines, I get the messaging options. However, if I click on the Home symbol first and then the three lines, I get something else.

May I ask if you find Tapatalk worth doing over the "regular" format?
thanks, Amos

Only makes sense on a phone or similar small screen device in my opinion.  I find accessing the site with Chrome on my 10" tablet to be a better option for me.

I'm not thrilled about it but it allows me to keep up when I'm not at home on the computer.
I guess I should mention that I really do have a life other than this..... :smt005

Click on the avatars or click the qoute and then the three dots on the top right corner will come down. If  you dont click on the qoute the three dots that come down will not have the "send the author a message"

I wish I had never upgraded. Nothing was broken and it was easier to use.

And I don't see the dots that others refer to, only the parallel lines.

I'm still on old v1.17.1
I updated once and hated it. Found the old version in my back-up files and reinstalled it.

I'm probably missing out on some new features, but I really don't care.

A lot of people on another forum I read (BushcraftUSA) are not happy about the update to TT.  Apparently the programmers got something like 12,000 negative hits on some forum thingy that they weren't happy with so I think the programmers have taken note and are looking into the update.

I also can't figure out how to see a listing of all the NCKA groups. Or...am I missing something obvious there too?
