Yup, that's it. That's one of my options. I just cant tell how long of a haul that is and if there is a grade on that trail.

According to my Distance Measure app, it’s less than a qtr mile.

Thanks Pat. Looks doable. I need to learn how to do that, is that in Google maps?

The one at the historical site is doable. They are pretty close together. If kiva doesn't work you can do Tallac.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

On my iphone, I can’t do the measure distance in google maps...only on desktop (just click on map, then right click the dot and select Measure Distance).
So on my phone I downloaded a free app called Distance Measure. It’s handy for researching fishing spots & hiking routes.

To clarify some info here, there are no Smallmouth in Tahoe.  We do have a healthy population of Largemouth in the Tahoe Keys and the Tahoe keys marina. You can also find Black Crappie, Bullhead Catfish, Bluegill, and Goldfish in the Keys.

I like this parking lot - I think it's a shorter walk with less obstacles, and it's more direct to the fishing grounds usually too.

I'll be on it in 6 hours or so hopefully.  :smt001

This is a better launch spot for sure.

Question,…are these launches still accessible?

Assuming so, would the not-sandwheels hobie scupper cart be able to get a loaded outback down the short trail to the lake? Or is it too sandy etc?

I’m headed up in later August & trying to plan a day.

Not sure about right now, but I heard smoke from the Tamarack Fire rolled into Tahoe recently.

Get 'em Eric!

I've launched Kiva several times as well.  The distance from lot to launch is easily doable. Good kokes at this time of year and into the fall. Make sure to have a DR or some method to get down to them if trolling. Otherwise jigging/bait can also work.

I actually go west from there, past baldwin and Ebay, all way to D Bliss. It's about an hour paddle. But the west side is wilder, more beautiful, and less pressured. Caught my PB rainbow and mac there.
