Over the years when I've seen stories of seals and sea lions being allowed to "take over" docks and piers because we are unwilling to shoo them away, I have thought it's ridiculous to allow these wild animals to dictate our inaction!  We are teaching these creatures not to fear us.  I do not advocate killing or maiming them, but they need to know that I will kick them in the face if they don't get out of my way.

Shit like this will be on the rise until we adopt a policy of getting really mean and territorial with these wild animals that wish to compete for the space that we have claimed.

I've given furbags a solid poke with my spear before when they got aggressive and tried to steal mine or my dive partner's fish...

Technically I guess that's illegal but when they threaten me or my catch I think they deserve it...

Attached pic shows a furbarg that tried to steal fuzz' Red...I poked him good and he finally went away...

That was in 2015...recently went back to same spot and same furbag was harassing us all day... :smt011

I've had a few issues with sea lions before and unfortunately there's not much you can do to them (legally). I've just accepted it as part of the sport.

I think the ironic thing is that a seal or sea lion understands getting it's ass kicked. All of Mother Nature does....except when it comes to the "Disney Crew". Those that think all animals get along and sing around the campfire together.
The Alpha Male is the one who kicked the most ass. That's what they understand.
They need to understand to stay away from us as well. We too have every right to be in and on the water.
Get too close, get your ass kicked is how it should be. It's the only way they will learn.
And the one with the 3 notches on it's flipper...  :smt067 :smt067

Anybody trying to kick a sea lion’s ass (or face) will be lucky to get their foot back. They are bigger, faster, and have bigger teeth than we do.
Warning! Retiree; Knows it all and has plenty of time to tell you about it.

This deserves the death penalty.

"It hit him right here, close to the family jewels," Bob Roper, 79, pointing to the inside of his upper thigh, told the Chronicle, of the injured swimmer.
