Awesome video.

+1
Also what did the dragging of the Stealth across concrete do to the bottom? Hoping you had some duck tape underneath  :smt009

Yea, the bottom got scratched a little. Most of the scratches were toward the back-end since my friend was carrying the forward 2/3 of kayak off the ground. It's thankfully nothing major - the depth of the scratches are shallow enough I can maybe flatten out with a heat gun. I'm exploring some solutions to help negate these kind of problems.

My buddy and I took the yaks out for a spearing run over at SWS. We shot a few fish for the grill - my friend nabbing himself a nice ling in 40ft of water. The day was overcast and some 3-4ft swells rolling into the cove--bigger swells and higher winds outside. An all-around good time.

Dyu ever get spined by urchins?  didn't realize how thick they were there.
nice shooting

Naw, I never had a problem with them; I'm pretty careful when I'm near those things while searching rock spaces.

Kayak Diving and Spearfishing / First Spearfishing Hunt with a Kayak
« on: June 22, 2021, 04:21:47 PM »
Haven't posted on here for a while so I thought I'd share a somewhat recent dive trip my friends and I went on. We launched out of SWS in the early AM then made our way to one of the kelp beds outside the cove. There, we came across the usual critters. I shot a few rockfish and managed to find a decent 20-21" cabezon in the area; We didn't see any legal ling's or anything special--the area was largely all rockfish and baitfish. The ride back to the launch point was tough -- after several hours of diving, we were pretty sapped-out... so paddling back was a challenge--especially with our kayaks a little heavier with fish loaded onboard and swells/wind that picked up in the afternoon. We eventually made it back to shore safely, thankfully, with everyone happy with the experience.

Cheers

Just wanna check-in to see if anyone is diving out in the Monterey area this Saturday. My dive buddy had to cancel but I still want to head out because of the amazing weather/conditions forecast for the weekend. If you don't mind a tag-along, I'd love to hook-up.

Thanks

General Talk / Re: Anyone uses a dash cam for driving?
« on: February 26, 2018, 02:52:02 PM »
I use a KDLinks R100 for my truck. Like you, I see a lot of craziness on the roads on the way to work -- way too many entitled people on the way to Redwood City from San Jose.. lol.. Anyway, because of that, I purchased a dashcam for those just-in-case situations. I made a video sample for people to check out as I get a lot of questions about it; best to see what it looks like. Just keep in mind, Youtube downgraded the video quality through compression, image size, etc. I highly recommend it. Has 2 cameras -- one for the front and another for rear view.

So I ordered this Daiwa casting rod from Amazon. Upon opening the box, I discover the rod has been through some drama. Either someone at Amazon's packaging department hates Daiwa rods or UPS has issues with Daiwa rods... lol

Thought some of you guys might be interested, but on a supply run at Fisherman's Warehouse in San Jose, they have these large octopus soft baits available. Looks like something good lings or halibut.

Met up with Alien this morning, landed this BSP at a relatively quiet area of the beach at my favorite location. Gorgeous morning but it wasn't too active.
