Just thought some of you might be interested in seeing how the gun was made. This is the third speargun I've ever made. Hope you guys like it.

Ernest,

Excellent vid and craftsmanship on that speargun.
How many hours did you spend making it?

Thanks for sharing

That is a beautiful job on the gun! I really like how you incorporate the bands through the holes. Nice job!

Thanks everyone. I enjoyed making this gun. My previous guns were cut entirely using a router table. This one, as you can see, involved a lot of freehand shaping. Learned a few things along the way. When time permits, I got a couple of new things I want to try next.

How many hours did you spend making it?
It felt like a life time, but I probably spent about 100 working hrs on it, not counting the cure time or the wait time. Each step requires a fair amount of prep work. The blank was made six months back. Let it sit for three months before squaring it up and cutting the track, then waited three more months before shaping it. The wait time was necessary to make sure the blank does not warp, and if it does I have a chance to correct it.

Now lets go fishing.
Long over due man. I was sanding like a mad man while you were catching monster trout at the Quarry. The build really ate up all my free time during the last few months. We'll go visit Clayman real soon :smt003

As Hamachijon would say,
Peace y'all
