MBK is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Kayak Fishing Derby at MBK Monterey on Saturday August 15, 2009 from 7:00am to 12:30pm

Heaviest legal game fish wins!!!

First...A NEW Ocean Kayak Trident 13

Second...Aquabound paddle

Third...A pair of sunglasses
 
$35 Entry fee includes BBQ lunch and drinks
 
MBK will be renting kayaks for $30 per person the day of the derby

All contestants must be present at sign-in the day of the derby

Awesome. I can't wait, this is going to be my first Derby.

Right on....  I was bummed to miss last year's MBK derby.  I was at the one before that and fortunately placed 2nd.  I hope to move up this year.

I hope so.  Last year the winning fish was a 3.0lb red and 2nd place was a 2.5lb brown!

w00t!  I think my schedule is actually free for that date! Finally, I can enter a derby and not catch any fish in the company of my NCKA bros! 

Yep, I should be able to make it!  PERFECT, right between Reggae on the River, and Burning Man!!!!    

Think they will let us sleep in the parking lot again?  Last year was GREAT!  The employees had a party the night before.  We hung out and drank beer and ate their goodies living up the night before the tourney.

Theresa... good catch on the date conflict.  Wow, that's gonna be a though call.  If the conditions are nice off Davenport, it'll be tempting to go there, especially with the free registration and food.  But if conditions are nasty on the coast, Monterey Bay might be the safer choice.

Is it possible for one of the derbies to reschedule for Saturday, August 15th?

I wouldn't worry about me, winning is all just luck.

Good call. I was bummed to have GSC III conflict with the FW ARW event. Now this I wish there were no conflicts so we can support ALL our sponsors.

Hey NCKA represented last year with the Top 4 spots--I was just glad to be a part of it.
