Registrations are rolling in. We’ve got a great warming trend which should set up the lake for prime fishing. Ive heard a couple trout plants are planned before the event.

I’m also working on a discounted camping option at Greenhorn for those who want to stay n launch from there site.  Stay tuned for that.

Since we’re providing all the food on Sat - Tri tip, hamburgers n hotdogs, salads, chips, waters and kid drinks, beer, etc.  I’d like to do a potluck Fri night with everyone. I’ll start that thread next week sometime.

Along with the tournament on Saturday, Hills Flat Lumber is also doing a Hobie Demo day.
If anyone is thinking about getting into a new Hobie, come on up and try out some boats.
Free lunch if you register for either event.

remember that while you paid for the event or are coming up to play on the Hobies, still have to pay at the gate, so bring some $$$ for that. If you get in early before the kiosk is open. use the box to pay. Less we have to have them chasing around us the better....
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

I'm also working on a discount for day entry and camping.

Lots of registrations are coming in now, including last years champ, Sue Vang. This year it's a bit different with 3 separate categories - Bass, Panfish and Trout. You can only choose one category to enter but you can fish for all and decide at afternoon check-in. So a bit of strategy may come into play, maybe a little dock talk ;) Also it's very possible to find a huge school of crappie while fishing for trout or start catching browns on a jerk bait trying to catch bass. You never know. That's the great thing about this lake, it has a lot of great species that eat everything in the spring!

Hope to see yall out there on the 28nd.  ~ Mike

What time is the gate going to be open in the morning?
Do we have to launch from Greenhorn?
How do you submit pictures of fish?

Gate should be open at 5am.
You must launch within 100yrds of the Greenhorn boat ramp.
A camera with a screen where you can recall the photos. Check out the first post it has a link to all the rules.
Hope you can make it out. ~ Mike

As far as camping the night before do we need reservations and what camp ground is everyone staying at? I got a few buddies going and we’re going to be drinking a few adult beverages and making a fire the night before if anyone is camping.

Greenhorn camp ground is the spot... Rollins is a MESS right now! HIGH rate of overflow! River flooding below dam and chocolate milk color in lake... sand creek is a river. Camping may also be affected due to high water and run off in camp sites. I'm sure Mike is making some calls arranging things. Lake can change a lot in a couple weeks but plan on stained to muddy water color. Gonna be a grind to wring out a win but, If you get something working, the fish are there. Trout still popping on top. Browns lurking off points, Bass in 20-40' of water (spoons and loud jigs)  and crappie in the trees... They have to be hungry! Going to be fun!
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

What are the points per inch for each of the 3 fish (bass, trout, panfish)? Or is it just scored by total inches?

AOTY values for species as I understand it... Total length is how I read it...

Greenhorn. Should have a word on discount camping or special offer tomorrow.  I'll have a pony and a small whiskey bar for adults.

Looks like 80's this weekend. Lake should be prime for the event.

What are the points per inch for each of the 3 fish (bass, trout, panfish)? Or is it just scored by total inches?
No points per inch, just total inches is the score. Big fish will determine any ties. Remember it's not one of each, pick a species and catch three. You can choose which species you want to enter when you check in. ;) You never know what you might catch!

Woot. I'm actually gonna make it. Signing up now.
Right on Moo, looking forward to seeing you. Bring the fam!
