Bought this and never installed it.

Taking a break from kayak fishing (6 mo old at home).

I opened the box and mocked it up but no wires cut, crimped, etc. All new, uninstalled and accounted for.

Yes, full GPS and waypoint capable

I think you are correct, no GPS.  The Chartplotter on the box threw me off...

The x in 4x means no GPS.

There was a thread either here or at nwka about what the numbers and letters all mean but I don't have it bookmarked anymore and can't find it.

Lowrance pulled a strange one here, and I know because I verified this for my own correct purchase.  Oddly, the simpler named Hook 4 is the more feature-rich version with the GPS, which is what I bought.

Wonder why the hell they can't simply name it as it is "Lowrance sonar only" Lowrance sonar and gps" why the hell they gotta complicate shit. Hillbilly says baby cow, sophisticated say fillet mignon...

Now we return you to the selling of a sonar unit and I'll say it's a great unit I have on if you got a hand held gps, smart phone, you don't need nav that's a great unit.
