Anyway to end this story we trolled all the way back and boated a 24lbr 1.5 miles from the Harbor.

These guys went out to the fleet and trolled back in

It wouldn't be shocking to find fish around mav's or even along the beaches

I used to catch so much salmon and striped bass from the jetty on down to below Miramar Inn that two nurses bought big freezers in my honor The last time I saw fish in that close was 92 or 93 then the currents changed or something

Everything happened from the back of the surf to out maybe 1/4 mile

If that happens this year I'll be dragging out my old glass yak :cowboy_smoke:

thank coastside for the intel

wish I could check it out myself It's looking like it'll be a while again before that happens

guitarzan

if I had only one day and those two choices I'd still go to Muir   If you get decent weather zip around the corner and look for them all the way up to Rocky pt

by the way it was too rough to try out the new downrigger setup and as much water as my yak took stuffing one rod and minimal gear I figure the downrigger is a fair weather set-up At least the way I arranged it

I was glad I had the talora with me  If I get another chance out I'm taking the convergence and some mooching hooks

Good luck on the salmon chasing... I just went to the docks in Bodega Bay yesterday to try and buy a whole salmon from the commerical guys...$9/lb for a whole fish... Ouch!  I remember a few years ago buying whole fish for just under $3/lb.

Luckily my wife loves salmon so much that she's just about begging me to fish for them right now.  Hopefully the wind and waves up here will calm down again soon.
