Hey All,
Been around NCKA for some time now but sold my Hobie last year because the family moved to an apartment and I had no storage options. Since then, we recently bought a our first home and well.......after lots of honeydo's completed, here I am. After many months of research, comparisons, addressing my own concerns, and a lot a drooling, I've finally decided on a Stealth. Looked around for a while and luckily Headwaters in Lodi had a few in their warehouse. I was initially thinking about a 475 but after seeing them in person, I figured it was a little too twitchy for me so I decided on this sweet azz Fisha 460. Drove the 2+ hours from San Jose to Lodi and scooped her up! I think I lucked out with this one as it came with the updated hatch, and 2 additional rod holders. Also purchased a Stealth rash guard and the folks down in South Africa were kind enough to send me some updated grab handle plates after admitting that some Fishas came with a dodgy batch.
I recently flush mounted my FF and hooked it up to the NOQUA 10ah batter which is a significant improvement over my old battery in the Outback. Still mentally engineering how to mount the huge elite 5ti transducer but may end up bending some aluminum around the hull. I'm thinking about a maiden trip this saturday out of HMB, weather permitting.
Anyways, I just wanted to say cheers and hope to fish with some of you some day.

Thanks all. I'm super stoked to get her on the water this weekend with weather permitting. Looking pretty decent so far. Worst case, I may just paddle around the bay to get my bearings. Look forward to hooking up with you all at some point if possible. Yes....suby and a stealth is the way to go LOL. I saw that boat on CL a while ago but wasn't ready to pull the trigger on it. FYI, I will most likely be out in HMB on Saturday jigging for some RF. I'll be on 69 if anyone is out there and wants to give me a holler.

Used Stealth I got was not perfect, been learning some fiberglass repair and detailing.

Next time probably going to buy new but was so close by and loved the way it looked so.... couldn't help myself.

All these Stealth posts makes me wanna test paddle one. I used to have the older WS T160 , which I considered the Ferrari of kayaks back then- it was fast. But the Stealth on its looks alone looks to be the true Ferrari...

I do not understand how back support works for the stealth kayak, comments...?  By design are you forced to sit upright?

I was actually concerned about the same thing. Most videos I've seen are from crazy offshore cats in Australia, South Africa, and Hawaii. Most of them just sit upright and dangle their feet off the side and they make it look effortless. Having had 2 back surgeries in the last 6 years, I was a little put off. That being said, there is a few options from Stealth. Option 1 is a simple back rest that clips into the eyelets behind the rod holder and also up front on the two grab handles. Option 2 is a seat back with but pad in the cockpit. Option 3 is the seatback and a stick on pad for the cockpit. I chose to go with Option 1 and sitting in it, I felt quite comfortable. The cockpit is well designed and gets your COG down load and one with the boat. I have yet to paddle it but have not heard any comfort specific complaints. Obviously, its not as luxurious as my outback seat or some of the newer seats that come on yaks these days but I'm taking her out for a maiden tomorrow in HMB and will certainly let you know how it goes.
