General Fishing Tips / Albion Update
« on: January 11, 2024, 04:30:51 PM »
In the interest of fairness, an update regarding the Albion Campground:  I booked a site today with Steven, the new and current manager of the Albion Campground.  Steven was polite and professional and very positive about what can be expected when staying there.  There are rules that some may find restrictive but none that seem unreasonable to me.  It's not going to be a place for late night parties or rowdy behavior but it appears that it will again be a great place to spend a few days at the coast.  The rules are posted on their web page.  I highly recommend that you read them before making a decision to stay there.  The manager who was there last year has moved on.  Rates and fees have changed but all are posted.  I'll be there the second week in August and hope to see some of my old NCKA friends there.  All I need now is some decent RF regs from DFW.  Hopefully the 50 fathoms restriction will be lifted.

General Fishing Tips / Kokatat - Sharing a very positive experience
« on: July 08, 2023, 11:55:03 AM »
I sent my drysuit to Kokatat in Arcata a couple of weeks ago for a neck gasket replacement.  It came back today with the new gasket installed.  It only took a couple of weeks and the suit is like new again.  I highly recommend sending Kokatat suits to the factory rather than an authorized repair facility.  Kokatat is a great company!

Derek & the Dominos -  In Concert
The Best of Wilson Picket
This Notes For You by Neil Young and the Bluenotes
Aqualung by Jethro Tull (Original Master Recording)

I have no idea what these are worth.  Anybody want to make me an offer?  I don't even own a turntable.

General Talk / Sheetrock work needed
« on: November 05, 2021, 03:55:36 PM »
Any sheetrock guys out there looking for a little work?  I have a day or two of drywall work that I'm looking to get done.  Patching holes where intercom units will be removed and some seam cracking to be fixed before painting.  I live in Danville.  I'm open to having the work done any time.  Weekends, evenings or week days are all OK.  Will pay cash.

For Sale / Free 15' X 8' Sectional Sofa for your Man Cave - FREE
« on: July 15, 2021, 01:31:47 PM »
I have a huge  15' X 8' sectional sofa that will  be replaced by a new one in a few weeks.  It shows some wear but would be a great addition to a man cave.  It's 3 pieces.  I don't want anything for it but will need to have it picked up promptly in a few weeks when my new one arrives.   it shouldn't be anything that couldn't be hauled in a pick-up.  PM me if your interested and we can arrange things.  It's located in Danville.

General Talk / Furniture Refinishing Needed
« on: April 27, 2021, 04:43:14 PM »
Hi guys.  Anybody out there in the Bay area who does furniture refinishing?  I have a small hardwood kitchen dining set that needs to be redone.  I'm not looking to change the look or color.  It just needs "freshening" up.  The finish is starting to wear off on the seats and the top of the table has a few small dings.  I have attached a picture.  Not looking to spend a bundle but I would rather get this one refinished than buy a lesser quality new one.  I have neither the skills or tools to do it myself.  Anybody interested?  Probably worth 3 to 5 hundred bucks to get it done.

For Sale / Gone Circa 1940 Maple China Cabinet
« on: November 05, 2020, 11:46:34 AM »
No longer available. Unable to delete post.

I have an Early American style Maple china cabinet (hutch). Circa 1940.  It has been in my wife's family since new.  We just don't have room for it and would like to find it a new home with someone who can use it.  It just seems like too nice of a piece to be donated to a thrift store.  I don't want anything for it but would like to get it out of hear ASAP.  It's located in Danville.  I'm pretty sure it would fit in an SUV but a Pick-up for sure. Sorry about the sideways pic.  I couldn't get it to rotate.

General Talk / Boondox Landing Gear on Outback
« on: August 30, 2020, 02:24:44 PM »
After struggling to get my 2019 Outback on my Wheeleez cart, my son decided I should try something else. He uses Landing Gear on his Outback but tends to be a Bass angler so sandy surfaces aren't an issue.  Boondox now has "Wheeleze" style wheels for the Landing Gear sets.  Today, he installed the Boondox Outback kit on my yak.  It appears to be a great solution, especially for us OGs using heavy yaks. I now have two sets of axles and wheels.  One for hard surfaces and one for sand.  No need to lock up the wheels or try and stuff them in the front hatch.  They ride out of the way and secure.   Pictures:

For Sale / Another Set of Clubs - Left Handed - FREE
« on: June 22, 2020, 10:43:31 AM »
I have another set of golf clubs to give away.  This one is left handed.  I don't know much about them but I'm pretty sure it's a full set including a bag.  These were my son's but he no longer plays.  If nobody takes them by this weekend, I will donate them to a local thrift store.  PM me if interested and we can arrange a no-contact driveway pick up.  They are located in Danville.

For Sale / Golf Clubs - FREE - GONE! No longer available.
« on: June 22, 2020, 09:26:49 AM »
I have an old set of clubs that I was going to donate to a thrift store charity but thought I would offer them up for free here first.  I don't recall the brand but I know there's a Callaway Big Bertha Driver and a nice putter I won in a tournament a few years ago.  They're in a really nice monogrammed bag from a Longs Drugs Pro-Am I played in many years ago.   I don't want anything for them but would like them gone by next weekend or I will donate them.  PM if interested.  They are located in Danville.  We can do a no contact driveway pick up.

For Sale / G.E. 36" Gas Cooktop - FREE - Gone!!!
« on: May 05, 2020, 12:44:30 PM »
I have a near new GE 36" gas cooktop that is going to be removed as part of a kitchen remodel that is due to start in the next couple of weeks.  I put it in a couple of years ago but it no longer fits with the remodel work we are doing.  I don't want anything for it but I don't want to see it go into a landfill.  I don't know exactly when it will be available but I am willing to hold it for a few days once the work here starts.  It's in perfect working order.  If you would like to have it, PM me and I'll hold it for you and let you know when it can be picked up in Danville.

General Talk / Roadtrek RV Curtains
« on: February 29, 2020, 04:30:22 PM »
I would like to replace the curtains in my 2004 Roadtrek 170 RV.  Unfortunately Camping World's horrible customer service has left me without a good source for replacing the curtains.  Does anyone know anyone who might be interested in making new curtains using the old ones as a template.  They appear to be pretty simple and the plastic "track" material is available on Amazon.  I can do the removal and install but have no sewing skills or equipment to make the curtains.  I'm willing to pay a fair price to anyone interested in taking on this small project.  Please PM me if interested.

Thanks,

Martin
