I don't believe mine are waterproff.  They are called trailer Connectors, two pole.  Drilled two holes then just sealed with marine goop.

Maybe not, but those are a great idea.  Do you recharge using them too?

No those are not water proof. The water proof ones have a rubber seal that goes around the male plug Usually green or dark grey color. I used those and was sorry FF finder failure when I needed it.

As for waterproof connectors google 2 Wire pin waterproof connector and that should get you something.
These waterprof connectors are worth checking out for they look just like the connectors on HID plug and play kits.

SeaWeed, I guess I'll have to switch out.  Bret, I would have to disconnect the wire connectors to the batteries inside the box and recharge the battery outside the box to be safe.

These connectors, http://www.lightingnext.com/2-wire-waterproof-push-in-male-female-wire-connector-set.html, look good too.

I have had that same connector now for two years + in the salt, fresh, and everywhere in between and never had any issues. I use grease on the fittings.

Very nice kayak.
I am jealous.
That kayak is at the top of my list for new boats to seriously consider.

My charger has the same connections so it just plugs right in. Super easy. Never open the Pelican box unless on multi day, no electricity for charger trips. Then I just swap battery out for a spare.

That's why I got them.  Grease with CRC Di-electic grase and hopefully that should take care the job.  Rob, the only reason I
choose to take the battery out when changing is because it's a LiFePO4 battery.  I'm not sure and don't feel safe to charge the battery inside an enclosed box.

I have those ebay 2 pin connectors. The pins kinda pop into the housing, but they wiggle. You have to be real careful when connecting the male and female. The waterproofing maybe okay between the connection, but the end of the housing where the black/red wires come out do not have solid waterproof. Also, the pins are similar to the Molex type pins. They don't look like they can sustain 5amp. I do not recommend these connectors.

I'm going to have to try those from LightningNext. They seem solid and probably waterproof well.

Waterproof connectors or not..... Always use Dielectric grease.

Put it on the Battery terms, on the FF power/tranducer connectors,
Everywhere there is an electrical connection.

Or get 9 others to go in for $1,80 each and split the shipping.  :smt003
