With all the fishing rods I've accumulated over the years, I had to modify the rod rack I built some years back. The rack itself is a copy of any rack you see at any tackle shop. What I did is make a cutout in the middle and add rubber holders you can get at amazon. here's one kind:
https://www.amazon.com/Organized-Fishing-Replacement-Accommodates-Spinning/dp/B003BYKJH6/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1497898720&sr=8-13&keywords=rod+rubber+holder  It will hold 20+ rods on the outside and you can put as much as you can (without reels) on the inside area.

Cool idea! Trying to store any more than 10 rods is a pain in the ass. With two anglers in the house I may steal your idea!

I'm now having feelings of inadequacy with my 5 rod collection  :smt010 :smt009 thanks a lot now I need to convince TLW to either fish or (the hard part) that I need 5 more rods.  :smt044 nice rack but as a full time Rv'er I use ceiling mounted racks.

I store them in a tote. I leave the reels on on my frequently used rods (bass and RF), the rest are for occasional trips
