OK, so I wanted to do this as a follow up to a previous thread I had going with a gazillion questions regarding how to set this up and the best way to do it.  To start, I wanted to shout out to FishingAddict, michael1one, and Mr T (I pity the fool!) for all the advice.  You all made this project a TON easier for me.  Thanks!

After much deliberation, I decided to take the advice of these guys and do a thru hull / water bath install.  Below is a list of tools and stuff I used for it.  * Keep in mind, for mounting the actual FF head , I was able to utilize the Ocean Kayak Mod Pod which is why I went with the RAM parts.  The mount that it comes with works just fine, I just wanted to lower the profile a little cuz I'm an aesthetics snob.*  :smt044

- 1" drill bit
- Duct Seal: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008A3UG94/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
- Gardening foam kneepad

The head mount is pretty self explanatory so I won't spend any time on that part.

I started with a gardening foam kneepad that I bought from the hardware store.  Figured this would work fine considering FishingAddict used foam for his.  I decided rather than cutting out an entire piece to hold the transducer, I would leave a small strip on the top side of it and basically "slide" the transducer into it.  My hope is that this will help protect the transducer a bit over time.  But we'll see how well it holds up. (photos at the end of the post)

After I had the transducer foam holder to my liking, I went ahead and used the Duct Seal to attach it to the kayak.  (NOTE: I did NOT use marine goop to stick the foam to the kayak, I only used the Duct Seal.  I will be updating my findings/results here after a few trips and I can see how well it holds up.... OR NOT)

Next, and this was the most stressful part for me, I drilled a 1" hole into my kayak..  Something about that process just freaked me the eff  out haha.  Anyway, with the hole drilled I went ahead and installed the wires using the Hobie Thru Hull Wiring Kit.  Which turns out is ridiculously easy to put together.  I did however watch some Youtube vid on how to do it beforehand.

For the battery connection, I already had my battery set up in the supplied O.K. "floating" battery holder in the bow from my previous FF.

But that's it in a nutshell.  I have yet to test the whole thing, but will be posting results after the water cooperates and I can get out there to give it a test run.

* One more note, and I'm basically writing this so I don't forget to do it:  Add water to the transducer holder (aka water bath).

Thanks guys.  And yeah, I do actually have pool noodles.  I just took them out for the install  :smt001

Nice install.  I am curious, whats your plan with the water inside the mount after a trip?   Are you letting it stay inside?  After an ocean trip it could get salt water and fish blood mixed in.

Thanks.  I actually have it so I can just slide the transducer right out of the mount so I'll be able to soak up the old water with a rag.  At least, that's my plan.  How is it usually done?
