Damn it looked flat out there, What lake were you guys fishing on LOL !!!!
Congrats Byron !!!

It got better and better throughout the day. As someone around here loves to say, life is good in the cove ;)

It was a Humboldt sweep for the leader board. Pickle won, rob took second, Dominic and I tied for third.

Open Shelter 2017!

Spending time with my NCKA family and friends at The Tides and on the water at Shelter Cove rates very high for me, and this past weekend will go down as another epic Lovefest.

Thank you, Eric and Verna, and everyone who participated.  Good Times!  :smt001

Sarah and I had a wonderful time! I loved how laid back the whole weekend felt. Kudos Eric!
Trippy Hippies, Backpacking Germans, downed power lines on the way home.
Friday night Karaoke at the campground was the best! Y'all know how to do it up right at the cove!
Looking forward to next year already.

Thanks Yakhopper.  This was a a chill event for sure.  Loved it.  spent the whole time at bread and butter targeting flatfish.  Landed all types of flatties but PAC Hali and starry flounder.  Getting a positive ID on all the different species is getting easier.  Still need some work tho. It was a beautiful day otw!  And great time hanging out at the Inn.

First off thanks Eric and Verna for the hospitality. I have always heard about Eric's tournament but never attend since I just got into the sport. It sure doesn't disappoint. He puts on a great and relaxing tournament. Just finally recovering from the weekend, 1000 miles and 18 hrs on the road was totally worth it. Even though I was hoping to end my salmon season with a big salmon at Shelter, it wasn't meant to be. I did catch my first Shelter Cove Salmon...it was just a baby at 12 inch. Where was my wasabi and soy sauce on the water lol

The weather was amazing and the ocean/wind laid down all weekend. Awesome condition vs earlier this year at GS. Night and day difference. The Cove doesn't disappoint with its Friday Karaoke...sure was fun to see how the local party it up!! The fishing is always speculator. Big lings, rf, cabs, etc...I even score a legal cali-hali at just 22.5 inch lol This was on tourny day but after check in :( oh well.

It was great hanging out with everyone at camp and enjoying some fresh abalone, huge scallop courtesy of Noah (Antonio son), and many other dishes. Ariel with his mad skill on the pork belly...oh man it was bomb!!

Be careful of the resident skunk...it isn't afraid to come into camp and chill with you. Although it seems when they do come, everyone in camp seem to be anti-social lol Chad kept saying how CUTE it was lol It even pooped next to their tent lol

At any rate, I can't wait to get back to the Cove where "Life is good". Thanks again Eric for putting on a great tournament. Next year I'll focus on targeting the other species vs trying for that chrome lol
