Met up with Sackyak and hit the Carmel area today for a steady mix of copper, olive, blue, starry, gopher, underling, a few canary (released of course) and a bonus 17" cabby.Released a bunch of fish and kept the cab and three assorted rf.The wind was out of the south to 10+kt with a 4-5 ft NW swell.Scattered fog loomed ominously in the mountains and on the horizon. We checked further down the coast and south facing beaches were already capping.Glad we decided to stay north to scratch up some fun fish. Both Sackyak and I made it in and out through the surf dry.Cool dolphin sighting, fun fishing and great company. What more could a man ask for, except the one that got away? :smt002

Nice to see some fish being caught, unlike my halibut outings.
Did you launch from the city beach?

Just a bit farther south Dave, but one could easily reach the spot where we caught these fish from the city beach.
