I was browsing the Hobie forum and saw a lot of discussion about rudder pins breaking on the AI/TI. I have not broken one on the water (yet), but thought it would be a good idea to practice replacing it on dry land. When I removed the old rudder pin, it looked like it did not have a lot of life left in it, so I replaced it. The pictures show the old pin and a new one for comparison---the old pin actually looks a lot worse in person than in the picture (kinda like some people that I know...).

If you're an AI/TI owner, you might want to inspect your rudder pin, and definitely carry a spare (or 2 or 3).
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

Great advice!  I had the pin snap during GS9.  GB2 and Sackyak saved my butt and swapped out the pins on the water... not recommended.
