Title: Freshwater fish ID [HELP] LMB/Bluegill/Hybrid?
Post by: wlshafor on July 01, 2013, 05:18:47 PM
Was out at Lisbon Slough on Friday 06/28/2013 when I reeled in this little monster.

I showed this picture to a few people & the feedback was mainly neutral being a Hybrid fish mixed with a large mouth bass & bluegill.

What's your guesses? I never caught one like this yet. Has anyone els pulled out something like this before?

I catch those around any rocks at Mendo and Sonoma, as well as some little local ponds.
I think they might be called green rock bass.

Looks like a warmouth sunfish. Maybe a little pumpkinseed mixed in.

Green sunfish. Kinda squishy and bite on bare hooks. I used to use them for Fathead bait.

They have pretty colors to them. I always wanted to do a freshwater tank with Bluegill, Yellow Belly Catfish, Crawdad and Crappie just never took the risk of getting caught.
