From an August 24th trip to Ocean Cove.  A pair of 24" fish (11 lb Cab and a 6.5 lb Ling) and blacks.  PB Cab by a mile!

I caught my first lingcod on 8/24/14 at Timber Cove. I was using a small rockfish I had caught earlier as bait. 34" and a little over 14lbs.

Caught my personal best Ling yesterday. 39 inches 24 lbs. (had a full stomach). The fight was amazing.

Nice ass ling! but IMO it should of been released....just saying...beat me up if ya want but I'm from the big state!  Hope you like them eggs for breakfast !!

ERIC

Looking back on it, I agree. But it was my first monster ling and I had to keep it. To make up for it, I just released this +-40 incher....

While just fishing shrimp flys for some dinner rockfish a lingcod grabbed the blue( top fish) and stoned it. It the ensuing carnage the ling also swallowed the black. Having the hook come out of the black, it snagged on the lings mouth. Hooking it! So when it came to the surface the black was in the mouth. HAH! I unhooked the blue and the lingcod. Then I let the lingcod go with the black in its mouth and it swam off happy. Released with dinner in its mouth to boot. Hilarious.
