I want to introduce myself to the community as I have been a lurker on this site for over 3 years.  I finally pulled the trigger on a Scupper Pro TW this week and I'm so excited and cannot wait to get on the water.  I already picked up a few a rod holder and a couple of deck plates.  looking @plans for a cart and doing research for a FF.

Planning on taking it on lakes, rivers and inshore.

Question I have and I realize that the answer comes from experience but where is the most ideal place to place rod holders if you want to troll.  Logic says in front corners of you so you can see the rods but your paddle stroke may interfere with the line?  I can place right behind me on the corners but will that interfere with my elbow?

I've been in sitting in my kayak in my garage trying to place the holders in the before mentioned areas while mimicking paddling.

Hi and welcome. I would try to keep the rods in front of you. When you can see subtle hits you can vary your speed and have a better hook up ratio. When the rods are behind you you miss the small hits. When you put the rods up front, angle them slightly forward and you should miss the paddle stroke.

+1 and use a longer pole (7+ feet) so the line out of paddle way.  Welcome to our community Arnold.

Welcome aboard. I just installed geartracs on my kayak.  I'll be able to move the holders around.   Check the Gearing Up section.
