Thanks to all of you for your posts and topics that helped me  first learn the details of the sport and secondly in choosing my first kayak.  Started life out in Redwood City and then to Palos Verdes where I quickly learned to love sailing, surfing, diving and spear fishing.  After school it was the mountains of Idaho for nearly 30 years (lots of canoeing and rafting and of course fishing) and now back at the coast since June '10.  First thing the wife and I did was go over to Trinidad to watch the scenery. Couple of fisherman were coming in on a tandem malibu so we went over to see what they were doing.  That's when I knew this is what I am going to do next.
NCKA was (and is)very instrumental in my kayak education.  Only thing missing was the kayaks and some local and experienced guidance.  Thanks to you all for a lot of that and thanks to the tax return for the kayaks.  Owned em two weeks and have been out in the bay and lagoons four times for shake down cruises and getting ideas on where I want stuff.   :smt003   Prayin for good weather this weekend.

Welcome. Shoot me a PM or post a hookup if you want to go out. There is also a fledgling lost coast kayak anglers Facebook group you can join and also friend kayak Greg (Cajun on here) on Facebook that will give you more hookup opportunities.

Welcome aboard to another Humboldt member!   :smt001

I like the Big Lagoon avatar pic.

If you're looking for the next local tournament it's GS6 down at Shelter Cove for the rockfish/lingcod opener on May 12th - look for the thread in Events and Tournaments.  I'd love to see more locals show up down there - we'll have around 100 or more from mostly down south.
I am a licensed guide.  DFW Guide ID:  1000124.   Let's do a trip together.

Thanks all. I did hook up with Cajun ( in fact  bought my kayaks from Pacific Outfitters).  Thanks Greg and Whitefeather for all your great advice!   LoletaEric you have some great youtube videos that really gave me the bug.  I liked the pool noodle test as well, I really think that's a good idea.  I carry my digital but, love the videos.

Nice to have people that welcome the novice newbies.  One of these days soon I will join you OTW. :smt001
