OK trident 13, to rudder or not to rudder?

I've had my T13 with out a rudder for close to 2 years now. Im wondering if the rudder is an upgrade worth buying? Does the rudder make a big diffrence with tracking? Is the install of the rudder easy for a pretty handy guy?

I got one on mine and love it. Someone in another thread summed it up well.

Seriously though, why are rudders so dang expensive?!

SUPER easy to install!  I just completed my first rudder install on my first yak!  Took about 3 hours (took my sweet time) and 6 pack of beers.  Mine's a P15, but I don't think the install is too much of a difference between the P15 and T15.  Go for it!

I didn't think I needed one on my P 15 until I was in some strong winds at Del Valle.  Paddling on one side just to go straight sucks!  I too think these OK kits are overpriced but they install fairly easily as mentioned in the previous post.--Jeff

  Thats the very reason I asked. I have had to paddle on one side to track in a straight line a couple times and it does suck. Also when drift fishing will the rudder help the yak to keep from turning in the current as much?

i like it cause i can track better as i fish in light currents like the delta, and it is great for coming in on swells keeps you straiter i line and in the wind it rocks
